Lotus was was the heat score spot lol..
Haha, yeah I wouldn’t know. We were such generic burbs kids... cowboys, back alley, pubs (Dixon’s or shanks) and the odd penny lane switch up with roadie or coyotes

Mostly back alley though. Homie’s parents owned it. Would stroll in at 9:55pm, give him $20 and just drink quads all night... never got kicked out, not only cause that was borderline impossible... but also cause our old defensive football coach who was a cop would moonlight most weekends there

I spent a lot of time at Yucatan's when I was at university, then we moved on to the Taz and then the Drink. Other places were thrown in there as well but those were the main 3

Whisky was a good time. I remember leaving one night with two girls to the palliser and having a dandy ole time. Drove the two gals home in the morning and rolled up to my friends place in deer run. Turned out to be his older sister and best friend. Don’t think he ever found out but everyone mutual knew haha.

I got to see deadmau5 in warehouse/undgrnd back in 2007 before he was huge, that was pretty cool!

25 cent shots at back alley on ladies nights and all the meat heads looking for a fight.

    Ahh good times

Metro gave the best deals to the engineering students society, so that was a staple for me.

Didn't even make it past the cover charge desk at the Back Alley. The one and only time I went there. Walked in with a group of friends, entry way was packed with people milling about and paying cover. I was talking with someone and totally forgot about paying the cover (From Red Deer. We didn't do cover.) So I attempted to proceed into the club and the chick running the cover charge desk starts yelling at the bouncers to stop me, which they did. Told me to turn around and talk to the cover charge chick. She said I never paid (which I didn't) and I said "Oh fuck!" in a sarcastic kind of way but she took offence and started flipping out as I was getting out my cover money. Told me to 'get the fuck out!'.......... bouncer grabbed me and took me outside. I remember thinking "........wtf just happened?"

I hung around for the parking lot antics tho. Wow, place was wild. Fights everywhere, vehicles smashing into one another, chicks screaming. It was quite the introduction to Calgary nightlife.

The back alley was rarely boring. Even on slow days something stupid was happening.

    Back alley was the best.

Anyone remember Slack Alice? Restaurant/bar had phones on each table, you could phone other tables and hit on patrons.

I Remeber at the old cowboys a tray or the draft was a worse deal than buying individual juice cups. It was confusing. And then someone always big wheeled and bough tequila shots, which was not the solution to any problem.

Fox and ferken (sp) 1c highballs Monday and 10c saturdays.

Terrible, but it had to be done.

I don't recall the prices at metro, but I do know I almost always drank a mikey in line, and got verbally abusive with stranger by the end of the night. So your price scheme checks out.

Not a clue what the prices were, just remember we would order them by the table full

I heard the place got shutdown when someone took a broken bottle to the throat in a fight, so your story checks out too

Y'all did the 90s wrong, warm up beers and games at Denny andrews, then off to the warehouse/underground for .10$ shots
