Never heard of Skyworth till Costco started carrying them. I see Canadian Tire carries them. Both TCL and Skyworth are China TV companies. I think TCL been making TV's longer than Skyworth have. I'd compared Skyworth to RCA. Better to stick with TCL/Hisense for the cheaper brands IMO

It's funny how these shitty Chinese brands that just slap a new name on the same factory production have a lifecycle...nobody had heard of hisense, TCL, etc just a couple of years ago.

I can't remember if I read it here or seen a Youtube video about why suddenly Chinese TV's are flooding the market. IIRC it was either a machine or technology that they are able to cut the glass LCD panels more effeciently and cheaper than Japan can or something to that effect. I remember seeing a big glass panel where the new tech/China can cut 6- 65" TVs from the glass vs Japan can only cut 2- 65" and the rest 42'/55" or something.

    Koreans, they undercut Koreans.

    And the Koreans undercut Japanese.

And all TV are smart TV because the data it captured in the back end subsidize the low price.

What you watched was about Gen8.5 vs Gen10.5 Fabs. Where Gen10.5 fabs can produce 2x more 65" panels than 8.5. This is why 65" is now the standard and so cheap.

Out of the 8 Gen10+ fabs, 6/8 are in China and 7/8 are owned by Chinese corps.

Damn, too bad. The hygienist GF keeps nagging me about my CHOICE of manual brush... like come on! That’s an annoying sound first thing in the am and I have her to clean em properly whenever I need!

But yeah, she may have a point...
