    I like it.

Wonder if the torque dip is gone.

Could be a 300hp NA engine with bolt on/E85.

Very promising, a must drive for me.

    2815lbs! Guys, this is light. It’s 2022!

Throw the 1.5L Turbo in the Fit. It's 2600 lb. Can you imagine a Fit with some minor suspension mods beating your BRZ

The Tiburon harkens back to a simpler time. No word of a lie, I dated a gal who had a poster of a Tiburon on the wall above her bed.

I literally just want my 1.6T out of my fiesta in a frs/brz and be happy as can be. Nice little bolt ons and tune and ~275-300 ftlbs of torque + rwd would be a dream.

They made this car already, it's called a Fiesta ST.

Am I missing something here? Is this a $50k car or some shit? What are you guys expecting?
Or to be more specific, what are the competitors in the same price range? There isn’t much out there that’s cheap, rwd, lsd. I’d certainly rather drive this than the dogshit 20 year old 370z.
What's with all the 370Z hate??? I had one for 3.5 years before switching to a 135i and now I've decided the 370Z was my favorite and am looking to get back into one. Maybe I'm old but I still think it looks amazing and no other car even comes close to it in looks, no other car in it's price range I mean. I'd take a Corvette or a brand new Mustang GT over it any day but those cost way more.

Ten years with no innovation... 370z is just stale

You mean the Z with like an extra 100 hp even though it's about an 11yo design?
This thing better be made of feathers and balsa wood to get around with that little power. I know it's lighter and nimble, but why not turbo it or at least offer a premium trim with a turbo??!?!

Yeah I was being a bit obtuse. The 370 is a reasonable value prop, but it is basically a facelifted 20y/o car, and that just doesn't sit well with me. For where we live, the 370 is probably the better choice (bigger cars with more power are better suited to our straight roads).

I still maintain that this car is setting out to do what it's meant to. Small, low power... the intention is probably meant to be more Miata than 370. But why do beyonders get fully engorged over miatas, but shit all over the BRZ? I just don't get it.

Personally I don't like the Miata for the same reason I don't like the BRZ. It's a fun track car but would be boring as fuck in day to day driving.

Basically this. I'd take a Manly Miata any day, but without a track to open it up on, it's a pretty mundane daily driver. Plus it's super embarrassing when the mom in her stock base model turbo SUV walks away on you at the lights, lol.

Seems odd to have HP peak at redline and there have been photos of someone driving and the digital tach clearly showing a 7500 RPM redline.

    An optional turbo?

The increased displacement is great and all, but isn't what this needs. A turbo 2l could pump out 250hp all day long, with more torque to boot. Yes, it would add few grand to the price of the car but I can *guarantee* you people would eat that shit up as an option.

This car looks the part. It's quite aggressively designed (as it is) and it deserves a powerplant to back it up. Even if it starts taking it out of budget territory.

Edit after continued thread reading: Yes, I don't get why they don't boost the Miata as well. Screw staying so true to your original roots of an ultimately boring car.

370z was a great car when it came out, then was quickly outclassed and outgunned in every way by the domestics. Nissan did nothing over 10 years and just kept selling an overpriced under performer. Not that it isnt a good car, it's just not that good compared to anything else in it's niche.

Like there's probably a best looking girl on every Hutterite colony... you get my point.
