EGR, Swirl flaps and DEF injector can be done in a few hours with normal tools. tunemyeuro.com has all that stuff.

Also recommend checking your thermostat temps since mine was bad and its common failure.

Downpipe is the bitchy part since you need to lift the whole engine cradle or do some cutting and hacking.

Jimmy was clear about the costs and time for all this stuff. He only offered me a canned tune for quite a bit so still humming about that.
Yeah I’m going to do fuel filter thermostat and coolant myself ASAP. Might just do an emissions in stage 1 tune for now. Once I have a workspace again I’ll delete the EGR and Swirl flaps too.

ECUProgram quoted me $1099 for a stage 1 tune as well for reference.

No codes. I ordered swirl flap deletes, EGR delete and a new thermostat with related gaskets. Likely going to just get a flashzilla and Malone Stage 1 and leave it there.

$1099 is the cheapest so far. They also said they may or may not be able to turn off EGR and SCR with that which isn’t great feeling.

I'd do the maintenance first, then do all the deletes at once when you are ready.
But, I'd only use a brand name tune, as thousands of people already run them (DUDMD,Malone,JR)

I’m doing the maintenance (fuel filter, carbon clean, coolant and thermostat, engine oil and filter) with the EGR/Swirl flap delete, so I’ll need a tune minus DPF removal to install at the same time.

Update: it’s finally getting deleted not by choice. Vacuum lines started to leak and didn’t have anywhere to work on it so took it to Viteks and turns out the DPF is nearly plugged as well. I had already done the thermostat, fuel filter, turbo elbow etc early on and now the DPF is coming out along with the EGR and swirl flaps. Price was better than expected.

I’ve never really dealt with a shop before outside of warranty once or twice and tires/alignment but they’ve seem very good so far and priced very fairly.

Picked up my car today, pretty happy with them. Sending my Mini there for some stuff late next week as well.
