What's up with the el'cheapo board + overly expensive cooler?

If you are buying from Memx at least get them to mount and test all the components before you take it home, even if you don't get them to build it. It will save you a lot of headaches if something isn't working correctly when you buy it. My buddy when he bought his new build had 2 MB that got fried from a faulty m.2 drive. Good thing he had them do the test bench or it would have been a massive pain in the ass for him.
It's the magpie effect. I like the AIO and the features. I don't care if it is overkill or not. I WANT IT!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As for the mobo, I have zero idea when it comes to those, I am purely going off suggestions, hence the thread.
THAT is what's up!

Damn. Yea I'm definitely jealous
There was a really nice white walker build on Reddit with that case last week. Can't seem to find it.

You can get X570 boards for half of what you've got in your build. But it looks like a "money is no object" kinda build.

And if money was no object, I would be getting the Dominus Extreme board LOL

Yeah, there's plenty of good 300$ boards and you could use that $$$ to double up on the ramThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's cool. Can you give me an example? I don't know what is going to constitute a good board over a shit one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

alright you heathens. I have dropped the Z73 AIO. Jerks.
Changed up the mobo a bit too since apparently, I was getting too spendy by some measures. First it wasn't enough, now it is too much. Make up your effin minds.
how's this look?

I still see the AIO cooler on that list, maybe you deleted a different item? Also missing storage and maybe some additional Corsair LL fans since you want to RGB all the things. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Either of the two I suggested above are the "go to" bang for the buck boards on X570. Just make sure they have what you need. The Asus Prime Pro you have in there right now is fine too - just make sure it has enough USB, SATA, M.2, etc. for you and that using the M.2 slots don't disable any SATA that you need. Of the cheaper boards I suggested, the Aorus Elite has the best VRM (better than the Prime Pro). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Or if you're going to pay up for the Crosshair VIII you selected earlier, make sure you get the Dark version, as it is the only board on the market that will allow you to OC Ryzen based on current, so you don't lose single core performance when you overclock all the cores. If that isn't your plan, you will be fine with a midrange board.
It sounds like you care about aesthetics, so consider a NH-D15 Chromax so it's black instead of shit-brown in color. It's an extra $20.
Look OK otherwise. Also note the 011 Dynamic XL doesn't come with any fans at all so you will probably need 4 of them.

Somebody was mentioning fans.
I stand by my statement that its Noctua fans or bust. Maybe Arctic fans.
I don't think either offers RGB, but Noctua at least comes in non-ugly black now.
You can always accent the fans with your own rgb to highlight them. Really up to you. All depends on if you care about noise.
My bad, I'm a little behind with all these newfangled cooling tecknologiez. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Agreed, but OP wants to RGB ALL THE THINGS and you can't get Noctua with RGB.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The absence of led strips and shopping cart spoiler in the build is concerning.

If you want RGB, Corsair ML Pro fans are virtually inaudible at normal operating speeds (1200RPM or less roughly) and can be bought in RGB form which I suspect the OP will want. They are also excellent fans in general. You will probably want 4 of them for the 011D XL. They come in 3-packs but oddly I think they're cheaper individually without the fan hub:
https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-Magnet.../dp/B076VD725X
You could also buy a case like the Phanteks P500A Digital which is one of the best cases out there and comes with 3 RGB fans (you would need to buy one more for exhaust). It's on sale if you like white (also comes in black):
https://www.newegg.ca/white-phanteks...82E16811854100
That case would save you a significant amount of money as well if you aren't married to the 011D XL but both are great cases.
