Yeah. I know I am going to need fans. Not worried about that at all. I will find some I like with the lighting options I want. There will be approximately all the fans going in this case. Enough to maybe make my own windtunnel for F1 testing.

As far as a HDD not being listed, I wasn't really worried about picking those. I figure pretty much any NVME stick and SSD will do. I don't think there is a whole lot of variance in those.

Case is locked in though. I already purchased it and it is sitting next to my desk, ready to build.

I haven't found a dark hero MB yet, but I will keep my eyes open. If I don't, how is that mobo I picked out? Good? Junk? I think I will just go with that aourus board you suggested otherwise.

No they aren't, source, I bought them on Memex employee recommendation, returned them the next day. Did my.own custom profile fan speed tuning.

Less reading/watching reviews, more putting your money where your mouth is dude lol.
What reviews are you talking about? I didn't mention any. I have personally tried a ton of fans in my systems.

    I currently own:

    ML 140 Pros
    ML 120 Pros
    Various Noctua Fans
    Various Fractal Fans
    Various Phanteks Fans
    Varius non-ML Corsiar fans

My ML140's are the quietest out of them all around 1000 RPM and I chose them specifically for my "silent" build that has been running 24/7 for the last 4 years. We had this discussion before and you thought they ran at 2400 RPM.

No need for HDD if you have enough LEDs. That's a FACT.

WD Black NVMEs are pretty good value otherwise.

Dark Hero should be out by end of month or early December - might be hard to get as they are the only one offering current based OC and that is a hardware feature. If you aren't going to OC, there isn't any major reason to buy that board over something else.

For a mobo it just depends on what you want to spend and if there are any specific features you're after. The only boards you want to avoid like the plague are entry level MSI X570 but you aren't looking at those anyway.

This is what I would buy at each price point:

~$500 Gigabyte Aorus Master / Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero (if available in time)
~$400-500 - IMO just buy one of the $500 flagship boards, but you could put the MSI MEG Unify in here.
~$200-$300 Gigabyte Aorus Elite / Asus TUF Gaming Plus. These two are your best bang for the buck unless they are missing something you need. They also are often on sale. If they are the same price I would take the Aorus Elite for slightly better VRM and Intel LAN vs realtek. It is $65 off right now making it a pretty good deal IMO.
~$200 Asus Prime-P (not to be confused with Prime Pro). Bare bones board with a great VRM.

The board I went with was the Aorus Master but I am getting a 5950X so VRM is more important to me. Otherwise a cheaper board would probably be fine.

For your SSD, if you want PCI 4.0 (it won't help games) the Samsung 980 pro is the obvious choice right now. Otherwise, just grab a Samsung 970 Evo/Plus and be done with it. The Evo Plus' have been on sale a lot lately. This is a good deal: https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-970-EV...6-8a5c26cd5a14

Alright, after taking the advice up to this point, this is where I am at.

    https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/HyhZQD

The only wildcards left are if I can find a dark hero MB, and seeing what comes out on the 2nd for the 3070 lineup for the GPU.

Does this look like a good 8ish/10 setup? Does it tick all my boxes? Any minor tweaks left?

yeah, but it is completely hidden, so no point in RGB'ing that.

    Looks good to me.

Just note that version of the NH-D15 (the "S" version) only comes with one fan to help with memory compatibility. The Non-S version has 2 fans. Should be fine though, performance is similar between the two.

I am pretty sure with that case you will need 3x120mm intake and 1x120mm exhaust fans, whatever you decide there.
