The assumption that any system instantaneously upends the lives of everyone without any work besides putting it in place is humorous. Your liberal arts college education talking points, as Buster has pointed out, are well past their due date.

In a system of capitalism, there is a price put on labour. For a long time, labour was worth virtually nothing. It took time, but it did change especially once the system required less raw physical human labour.

Your argument seems to stem from socialist policies have grown the lower classes. I'd say the more capitalist/free market ones have.

Government did not make it that "poverty" is considered fed, sheltered, clothed, and having a 55" big screen with internet. So besides for mental illness, 1st world countries are doing quite well, and worldwide abject poverty is at its lowest ever.

Nothing is ever good enough for the left, even the resounding and continuously progressing betterment of society that free market capitalism has created.
