    haha I'll answer on behalf of dannie - fuck no.

    You could bribe a mechanic/shop that has been registered provincially as being OOP certified to pass it (don't actually try this).

    Only conditions I've ever encountered are:

    Vehicle was previously sold/registered in the province where you are currently registering it - IE:

    I bought a 2002 Allroad from Victoria, but the seller had originally purchased and registered it in AB. Some years had passed since it was an AB vehicle, but to my surprise I went to the registry and no OOP required (despite it having BC plates/registration when purchased).

    They’ve clamped down hard on the “friendly” OOP mechanics the last couple of years. Not worth losing your OOP license.

    @dannie !
    I was wondering, might bring an older 1964 car from bc to Alberta, what are the rules on getting an OOP? Do I need one?
    That car better be mint and good running shape. 1964 can have a lot of bad stuff to fail.

    Hey @dannie ... I have a motorcycle question. Brought my dad's stock 1978 Honda CX500 from BC like 12 years ago. A buddy of mine basically did a custom build on it, did the full inspection and got it registered in Alebrta in his name and rode it for a couple summers and then I took the bike back over basically in 2013 but I have not yet re-registered it into my name yet or had it insured or plated. Will I have to jump through any hoops now that it has been 8 years since the last time it was registered here or should I just be good to go to insure it and show up at the regi to put it in my name?

    You'd need the bill of sale from the other guy to you and insurance in your name and you're good to go.

    Can we renew registration for Class 1 Livery online thru Alberta Digital ID eservices? I keep getting an error.

    Nope - they changed the system to allow it but it's failing hard. They were trying to mitigate it earlier this week, but I haven't heard of an outcome.

    Thanks Dannie. I was at AMA today doing all my registration. Told the clerk about this problem and she said the same thing.

    You know what I really want? Digital registration slips. The less paperwork in my vehicles, the better. I have had my car broken into and the only thing they took was the registration/insurance slips.

    Even better. Make it like a fishing license and just auto bill me once a year and I can pull it up on the app the 0 times I actually need it.

    I’m surprised you of all people would need to ask that question? Haha

    I would guess not dissimilar to a dealership? Perhaps with higher premiums for unlicensed motorists?

    Lemme know if you still want the answer to this. It's actually a little convoluted. DM me

    I just sold a car but the registration would not have expired for several more months. Are we still able to get money back on things like this?

    There's a service fee, so it's not worth sometimes. I forget how many months it needs to be before it's worthwhile.

    I think the fee is 15 bucks or so?

    Probably not worth it unless you have 6+ months left after you factor in your time.

    I'm already standing in a line for iNvErMeCtiN, so what's the big deal about another line so that daddy can govern me harder or whatever delusional gibberish these cream jockeys are spouting, today.

    @dannie

    I don't know if this is something that can be done, or needs to be done. I was an Alberta resident until September 2021. I'm now a Saskatchewan resident. I want to get an Alberta commercial driver's abstract to prove I do have a longer driving history than what my current Saskatchewan abstract shows. I know my old Alberta driver's license number but I don't have any government ID that shows it. I can show that I'm SKR from Saskatchewan, and I have a license number for an SKR from Alberta, but I don't know how to show that it's the same SKR. Know what I mean?
