I'm sure that's why they are back to age restriction. Only letting 55+ 2b 1st. And if you look at status of all pharmacies, they are booking for May/June right now. So unless there is this magical surge of supplies, I doubt we are getting vaccinated quick enough.

We seems to be doing better than Ontario tho, still stuck at 70+.
apparently there are over 1M people in AB that could technically qualify for phase 2B, so i think they are also staggering it to not crash the systems.

I was able to book my mom in for April 16 at Costco pharmacy. They still had some as early as April 21 when i checked a few mins ago.

I wonder what that number is if they removed people with self-inflicted health problems from the eligibility.

My Wife is working a 10-hour shift in April giving Pfizer vaccines, so I'll be curious to talk to her after and find out what kind of people were coming in.

At the end of the day everyone gets a vaccine so I think whether its self inflicted or not its still better for them to get it before me since they're more likely to end up in the hospital. If our hospitalizations starts dropping again (which is slightly appears to be? 295 -> 280) maybe we can continue our reopening even if cases are up.

If we are talking about removing taxpayer funded healthcare for people with unhealthy lifestyles, then that's a total remake of our entire system.

A remake that I’m not sure many of the advocates for for change would be net better off under. I think we all like to pretend our lifestyles are a lot healthier than they actually are.

BMI based access to healthcare would be unkind to me, that's for sure.

BMI, liquor consumption, minutes of exercise a day, meat consumption, hours of sleep.

Lots of ways to exclude people.

That's not what I was suggesting, and that would never happen anyway. The only thing you could maybe do that for is smoking related illnesses, because quite simply you either smoke or you don't and it's very much a personal choice with very negative health repercussions. As for obesity, it would be too easy to argue it was due to a health condition, depression, etc. even though in most cases that would be BS, so I can't think of any scenario where they would remove taxpayer funded health care from those people. Now, if they wanted to make smokers pay for their own medical bills when they get COPD, I would be supportive of that but that is a different debate and I also know that will never happen.

So the big announcements today are that Johnson and Johnson is expected to start deliveries at the end of April (no numbers, but anything in Q2 is nice) and Pfizer is pushing up the delivery of 5M doses into June.

Even if AZ is cancelled going into arms altogether that would be ~38M doses by the end of June, plus whatever J&J is able to get by then. With AZ well into the 40M (+J&J). The real game changer will be with what happens when the US reaches its capacity (in a matter of weeks, likely), and how that affects deliveries.

Pfizer with 9.6 million doses in June is pretty massive. With time to distribute and administer that should mean one in every three Canadians gets a jab in July.

Hopefully J&J will produce meaningful quantities soon, even in the US they are running out of potential clients. By the time they start mass producing most will have already had their first dose of another vaccine (US has 30% of its population already with one dose and enough doses for another 30% being distributed in April alone).

One in Eight Canadians (12.5%) have now had their first vaccine and we're doing roughly 0.5% per day and increasing.

Not yet. They said additional years will be added as they receive more supply.

So exactly when is our vaccination rate / supply suppose to get better?

Looks like we have had 1 maybe 2 good days a week aside from that dog shit sub 10k doses a day. No appreciable increase in vaccination rate at all through March.

Is this because we tossed the AZ doses in the trash? Are we ever getting another moderna shipment? Say what you will about Pfizer but at least they have been consistent.

At this rate maybe we really will still be locked down a year from now.

This was a completely different graph an hour ago, with maybe 5 days over 10k doses in march.
