There seems to be lots of anecdotal reports on Reddit of people under 55 going to pharmacies and getting the AZ shot by simply talking to the pharmacists and accepting the risks that come along with AZ. I guess because NACI is only the recommending body to Health Canada and it was originally approved for 18+ then its at the discretion of the pharmacy on whether or not they administer it outside of the recommended age range. From what I've been reading this seems to be easier to do in smaller (see mom & pop) pharmacies but there have been enough stories that one would think there is some truth to it.

Dropping the age to 40 is a great first step. I'm still in favor of opening the whole thing up though.

Anyone who is newly eligible, the WalMart vaccination website is MUCH better than the Shoppers one, because you can choose location and actual timeslot. As opposed to just getting put on a list for them to phone you. Lot of AZ appointments available in the next three days too.

The Big Pharma argument is getting really played out, especially in the complete absence of evidence.

The appeal to authority fallacy is really played out when most have demonstrated not knowing their heads from their assholes.

Once again, the vaccine works, and I am sure it is effective. However, the government can barely provide accurate causes of death, beyond listing everything as covid. So excuse me for being skeptical. Some of the vaccines are 70-80%, I believe there has been some new testing that the J&J is only around 50-60%.

Pretty neat how purely anecdotal evidence is ok when it fits one narrative, completely out the window when its suggests the opposite.

I'd say the people in this threas have done a poor job of showing actual real data and studies. Not ones with sample sizes of 77 people or self reporting. Remember suntan going on and on about long term covid, and then I shared a national post article with doctors effectively negating it as a concern except in extreme or rare circumstances? Crickets.

Its supposed to be eligible front line essential workers isn't it. Not eligible essential workers. Mind you if you check that box as I did it does bring up a list and my occupation was on it.

I don’t think there is any category for honour system “essential employees”. Unless you were so critical that the government vaccinated you months ago.

I don't need to worry, I qualify on age now anyway.

Honestly, at this point, anyone who wants the jab should feel no hesitation about filling out the forms in whatever manner they choose to ensure thier eligibility. Jabs in arms is all that matters, so getting yourself vaccinated is doing a public service.
For all I know every one of you is probably Métis. I applaud you if you are, or if you suddenly find yourself in any other eligible group.

Its a race against these variants is the only reason they opened the age up. If they don't get 40-55 vaccinated ASAP then we are the next Ontario. I believe BC is offering their vaccines to young people without additional conditions for eligibility.

The only problem I can see with AZ is people being wary of the blood clot issue, people over 40 are probably more aware of this issue than people 20-40 imho.

There is no issue, it's so insignificant that reporting on it and spreading fear through media should be criminal. Our media is completely useless on reporting facts, all they do is offer talking heads through opinion pieces, "experts", advocates, activists, hippies etc. CBC needs to be dismantled and defunded, they are utterly useless.
