I say stupid shit all the time.
Yep appears AstraZeneca is becoming more rare.
Pfizer vaccine is basically the Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck card now of vaccine collections.
Background for those that don't know.

Well it's official! A preliminary study shows mRNA vaccine produces more antibodies than AstraZeneca!
Oh, wait....Canadian study finds mRNA vaccines produce more COVID-19 antibodies than AstraZeneca
The study’s authors say the initial results do not include people who have received two doses of AstraZeneca

It's no wonder people doubt science when media headlines obscure everything.

we need Ron Burgundy and his channel 4 news team back.
I believe the data is 1 dose vs 1 dose. Since the study is between Feb to May, I doubt there are any significant 2 dose samples to be had. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Basically, if I'm reading that correctly, 1 dose mRNA yields 10% people with no antibody protection where 1 dose AZ yields 30%. Which is why they urge people with AZ get 2nd dose ASAP and why mRNA is preferred.
I think information has always been double edge sword. Some may read this and say fuck science but other may ease some minds about not being early adopter and get the jab.

A buddy of mine is reluctant to get any shot, not because they are anti-vax in general, but he doesn't understand the long term effects enough to see it as worthwhile for him personally. He also is a hermit and doesn't go anywhere.
was supposed to get Moderna today but unfortunately the pharmacy didn't have enough people signed up, getting my 2nd Pfizer shot this Friday instead.

It's interesting how Canada has prioritized the single dose approach while much of Europe has prioritized both doses for the most at risk.
I can see the positives to both but it's funny how Liberal supporters are doing a victory lap based on the metric prioritized by the government.
Right or wrong approach, we are #1 in the world in 1st dose and at this pace, we should be #1 in the world with 2 doses in a month if people keep up this pace on 2nd dose. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I thought we did prioritize two shots for high-risk people? Everyone I know in that group was DP'd more than a month ago.

If you want Moderna specifically, I know of a pharmacy accepting appointments for Moderna this week, provided you are willing to go outside of Calgary. I can pm you the number if you’re interested. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I was at Telus yesterday and I was standing beside someone who simply requested Moderna and they gave it to her. Shouldn't be that hard to get if you want a different 2nd shot.
Where are you getting your data? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
According to https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations Canada is somewhere around 50th (I didn't count) for % of population fully vaccinated.
Same site, among countries that matters:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fully vaccinated is 2 dose. We are still behind.
Israel at 59% follows by UK/US at 46/44%, we barely passed 20%.
We lead on 1 dose at 66.72% with Israel and UK right behind us at just under 64%. US, Italy, Germany and France are 50-53%.
Our 1st dose trajectory is faster than UK and US and with way higher 1st dose adoption and that's with lack of supply. Apply curve to 2nd dose, we should lead in 2nd dose by end of July, mid Aug latest. (But given most places restriction is over and it's summer, don't know if that view is overly optimistic).
And end of the day, only 1/3 (or less) of the 2nd dose didn't really follow manufacturer recommended gap. Almost everyone getting 2nd dose now and forward are all on time.

Got my second Moderna shot on Monday 1:20pm, didn't feel anything and continued on my with laying down some sod. Went to bed and around 3am I was shivering but had a fever of 38.5C and my body was sore AF, especially my joints. Took a tylenol and woke up around 7am with a huge headache and 40C fever. Fever didn't go away until this morning around 4am.
Wasn't expecting to get that fucked up lol.
