Well my mom got the moderna vaccination today. The nurse said they would be keeping her to the original schedule for shot #2 of April 20th. She does not appear to be a lizard yet, although honestly, it'd be hard to tell with her.
    Congrats.

My aunt got both hers almost a month ago (LTC facility). My parents are scheduled to get their first shot in 2 weeks. Pharmacies aren't respecting the March 15th booking start date, they got scheduled last week.

My head is spinning trying to catch up vaccination news.... so TLDR as for Mar 9th.

    75+ get Pfizer/Moderna

Starting March 10th, 50-64 get AZ

    Starting March 15th, 65-74 get Pfizer/Moderna

All can be booked thru designated pharmacies, not only gov website, correct?
You can definitely book right through the clinic/pharmacy - both my parents did.

    Ageism?

What not go straight for racism considering you can preferentially get a vaccine based on your skin color.

The fact that this is advertised at every press conference and every vaccine rollout plan is astounding.

I've heard from a lot of people that they barely had any effects from the first shot, but felt quite rough from the booster.

Differentiating by skin color in 2021...geez.

Can this guy get the vaccine soon?

We gotta vote more new Canadians and visible minorities in and hope that they can put a stop to this.
They shouldn't accept the vicarious guilt and can enforce some accountability.

I've heard this too, family member of mine in the states (early 30s and healthy) got absolutely demolished for a day from the 2nd shot.

    Are the 2 shots different?

The second shot will typically give you a reaction because your immune system can recognize it. It's also why people who have already had COVID react similarly to the first shot. Both Moderna and Pfizer trial data shows that around 80% of people have a symptomatic reaction to the second shot. It's a good thing because it is evidence that the vaccine is doing exactly what it's supposed to by triggering an immune response.

My wife got the Pfizer and was 100% fine after the first shot, but had some mild symptoms for one evening after the second shot, and then completely fine again the next day.

For Pfizer and Moderna anyway, the two shots are the same within each company. First one primes your immune system, second one boosts it.

    No.
Just clearly it is hitting your body's to tier response in round 2.

Think of it like fighting Tyson.
You made it past round one... He's only heating up to uppercut you out of the ring in round 2.

Ok bad reference. Tyson fights only go one round.

Can confirm. My mom got the second shot this week, and she felt awful for 2 days... nausea, low blood pressure, etc.

I'm just asking because we've likely run into each other. Nothing nefarious just being friendly
