We now know that with unlimited resources, a vaccine can be developed and properly tested in 10 months.
H1N1 had a quick vaccine as well, didn't it?
Do you know how this one compares?

That said, back to AB. We have administered 160K doses with 66k got double dose. Given there are roughly 2M people in phase 1 and phase 2 (50+ and other special cases), so does September phases 3 (GA) sounds like a very low bar set or about right?
If vaccine supply stays on schedule, we should be done Phase 2 by the end of Q2 with Phase 3 starting in the summer. Even with a shortfall we'd be pretty close. With another vaccine available that timeline improves. So September is a very low bar, yes.

If we hit that I will be very impressed and surprised. End of phase 2 should basically mean there's no justification for any restrictions on travel, businesses or gatherings too.

I suppose I will get it but I'm in no rush and would have no issues being one of the last Canadians vaccinated. However if it meant I didn't need to wear a mask or this dumb InstaTrace at work then I would get it sooner.

Some co-workers would love WFH until golfing season is over, so they kinda love this proposed vaccination timeline by AHS for now.

Well, H1N1 was related to the flu vaccines, so it wasn't really from scratch.

Looks like I should be in phase 2, group C. Should be interesting. Good thing I can squat, bench, and deadlift 20X my body weight.

Which of these relates to Aspen?

    "Group C

    - Residents and staff of eligible congregate living settings: correctional facilities, homeless shelters, group homes including disability, mental health and other types of licensed supportive living
    - Health-care workers providing direct and acute patient care who have a high potential for spread to high risk individuals
    - Caregivers of Albertans who are most at risk of severe outcomes"

Close. I work at an assisted self-isolation site for vulnerable populations and come into contact with positive cases and others awaiting test results.

    .
Well, depending on how you factor in previous flu vaccine development, but ya. A couple of months.

Will be interesting to see what the "high risk underlying health conditions" are for Phase 2 Group B.

Sounds like I should get my doctor to sign off on a hypertension diagnosis?

Get the Homer Simpson certified obese card. You'll be good to go.

If they use BMI as the metric I'll be first in line. I would consider getting the vaccine then, just for the sake of watching the look on these pussy farts faces as a healthy bodybuilder gets to go in before their ghoulish looking, dead on the inside, vegan bodies.

Rushed is another term for expedited and I don't think there's anyone in the vaccine world who doesn't agree that it was expedited. It is the risk levels due to it that are the debate from some.
That's fair, but the two have distinctly different connotations and invoke entirely different responses when used in the conversation re: vaccine development. Expedited is a very accurate way of describing it, just as Buster below you had said, time was never the limiting factor and we are seeing what happens when there is a significant financial backing
