Heard from a nurse that there are walk-in appointments (no lines) at the Telus Convention Centre for 2nd doses, as long as it's been 4 weeks since your first jab. Open till 7PM.

The Telus walk-in is for first doses.

Hinshaw just finished saying that they can't open up the thousands of open spots to book second doses because there might be some people who haven't had the chance to book an appointment yet despite having weeks to do so or been able to find an appointment that is convenient for them. This coming off another miserable day for first doses that didn't even move the needle for % complete.

What Hinshaw says, and what actually happens are two different things. They are more than happy to jab people down there.

    Didn't it move 0.3%?

These "reporters" really are latching on to the "delta variant", it's just painful listening to the question period.

Unfortunately, most people DGAF about anything until it is going to affect their lives, so now that people are seeing it will probably hamper travel, they are deciding to get jabbed. (disappointed at the number of people I know in this category in the last few weeks)

3% in 8 days for a normal Canada Day...we have to be able to get there, don't we?

Looking around Calgary stats, looks like Calgary Center, Lower NE, East are under 70%. The rest of the city are above. Lower NW wins at 79.5%.

Time to wall those area off and pump the numbers? Or is that racist?

I've found out this is also similar for "Yo - I had to wait 18 months for an MRI - our system is FuknBullSht!!"
Booking an MRI takes longer if you refuse to miss 30 minutes of work and refuse to drive more than 10km and refuse to be available on weekends; but, it's not a guaranteed wait of >1 year.
I finally unloaded on my friends recently who "had tried everything, Maaann!" and suddenly their entire family is booked for second shots somewhere about 40 min from their house.

Looks like it's going to take a bit longer to hit that magic 70% number.

Covid tracker website has us at 67.799%

LOL wut... My family doctor and the specialist put me on the list and I was told 14+ months back in 2018 for an MRI because it wasn't deemed emergency. Curious where you got this data on weekends/driving 10km/missing work? I sure would have loved to save the $979 I had to pay for a private one at Mayfair

You get the standard "no access, can't take time off work" answers from the usual apologists but the reality is that a lot of the residents just don't give a fuck and never have.

Never did hear full weekend numbers from village square so I assume they were shitty and I'm a racist.
