Did people not get their record when they got their shot or something? Why all the fuss over the online portal?

The way this is looking, it’s a stick to drive vaccination rates and not actually for safety, especially since they are outright ignoring people who can’t get it for a legitimate reason. Aside from the appeasement of parents, there is also no reason why there couldn’t be a requirement for 11 and under to show proof of a negative test within a certain timeframe to access what is a list of completely non-essential places. Unless there is some new evidence that transmission isn’t an issue under 12?

I sure as hell don't want to rely on carrying two pieces of ratty old paper with chicken scratch from some vaccine volunteer. Much easier to just utilize an app on my phone.

How does everyone else's vaccinations show up for them on your online profile? Mine only shows up once from the first shot under "Vaccinations" but both shots under "Medications".

Both under immunizations. At first it was buggy and only showed my first but then refreshed a couple times and second showed up. None of the shots showing up under Medications.

Are there legitimate reasons for people 16 years or older to not be getting vaccinated right now? Pregnant women or soon to be were cautioned because these subjects are never included in clinical trials, but even those groups are now being actively encouraged to get the vaccine from medical authorities. Obviously not taking about conspiracy bologna, but potentially justifiable medical reasons to not get the shot.

People recovering from or during chemo. There was no guidance early on but now it seems to recommend finishing COVID vax before chemo starts or find the best window in between treatments. The other is allergy.

There's very few reasons but they are gradually getting smaller

Allergies - but with the mRNA and Viral vector vaccines being very different, many people should be able to take at least one. As well as you can also speak with your doctor for support when taking it and extra precautions. (Longer observation time after / take it in a doctors office incase there is a reaction / availability of epi-pens, etc.

Immunocompromised - the mRNA have been shown that for many (though not all) that they can be safely taken though they may have reduced efficacy. Quebec has started giving 3 shots to those with weakened immune systems though this isn't a widely accepted practice yet.

There are still some people that fall under immunocompromised, especially those in the midst of chemo that do not qualify or should be cautious about taking them but that's a fairly small group. Pregnant people have been recommended since Feb or March to take the mRNA vaccines and its strongly encouraged as it passes some level of protection to the newborn. Given that kids under 2 won't be eligible for a long time to come, its worth taking (The next group to get approval is ages 2-12, infants will be a long while still))

Really if they're that concerned about an easy way to show your record, and presuming it will always only be COVID, now would be a great time to integrate your DL/ID card with AB health card number, and a little thing on there similar to the organ donor heart that indicates covid vaxx status. All in one package....You get a new card when you get your vaxx.

Or they have a similar thing to bars where you get your ID scanned and it just has an electronic update on the backend to green light you or not.... Just spitballing

In theory all they need is to scan an provincial recognized ID and able to immediately pull your record for a red/green light.

Tech is easy. The ethics is the issue here.

But between the 2 evils, I will choose vax passport over another lockdown. There is no reason to stop/slow the economy to accomdate 30% of the population.
