C19 has destroyed our healthcare system so much that:
- walk in clinics are ghost towns
I wonder if phone appointments have anything to do with this?
- ALS is closing locations in the city or reducing hours - getting a blood test now takes a month
How long it takes to get a test always depends on urgency. What used to be immediate is still immediate. What took a month in 2019 still takes a month. Side note: ALS reduced the amount of tests they allowed during the pandemic, to the frustration of doctors.
- medical services buildings are also ghost towns
That may have been the case in summer 2020, but not now. Foothills hepatology and GI clinics are busy, hard to find patient parking.
- diagnostic imaging services (private) are shutting down due to lack of patients, AHS diagnostics is doing 24-48 hour response time for non urgent matters, that use to take weeks.
- emerg wait times are down from 3 hours to 30 minutes
