Good news for those who want to hook up with hot Jewish singles in their area:

Over 2.7M doses in Alberta by the end of May. Over 4.1M by the end of June. And that's without any schedule on further Moderna or AZ doses, but even the continuation of the reduced Moderna shipments would put us well into the 'everybody who wants a dose can get a dose' and second doses will be rolling along.

Another hearty AZ shipment in May would be pretty awesome (if the U.S. could lend us just 10% of their AZ stockpile we'd pretty much catch up in first doses pretty quick). Any recovery in Moderna doses would be great. A seven figure (national) number of J&J in June would be unreal.

Bad news is the hospital numbers as we delve deeper into the DGAF phase.

When we had a >7-day supply it really doesn't matter who pretended to be what.

In the grand scheme it's not people trying to get vaccines that are the problem. A little underhanded at worst (less so now that the risk profile has changed with more young and healthy people being hospitalized), but still contributes to the end goal. It's the assholes who don't believe in mitigation measures and also don't believe in vaccination who are the problem, and they're not jumping the line.

Being back to a <7-day supply I guess we can go back to worrying about people trying to skirt the system.

I had the AZ shot on Thursday evening in Red Deer. It was a huge line up, I was about 45 minutes behind my scheduled time, but that’s fine by me. It was almost all 40-somethings like myself in line waiting, great to see the uptake.

I felt like I had a bad hangover the next day, and sweat it out that night. Good to go the next day and have felt fine since.

At this point, the "system" has nothing to do with risk mitigation or vulnerability, so skirting it has zero negative consequences to society.
Those in higher risk groups who have not yet gotten thier shot, should see the risk of someone else taking thier spot in line as encouragement to get thier ass to the clinic asap.

Vaccine supply is not something individuals should have in thier decision-making process any more.
