My dad got affected pretty severely with blood clots a week after his second shot. To the point were they had to remove a kidney. He still has acouple stents so he can pee out the clots now.
I am sure that will shave a few years off his life.
He has said he will not be getting any boosters, which is understandable.
Time will tell if this path we are on was worth it, but when you mix for profit and government together I wouldn't set the bar too high.
thank you for sharing and I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I've been stating for many months now that the vaccine isn't for everyone but i'll probably get another bad rep comment for saying so but whatever

In the anecdotal world of vaccine side effects I now personally know of 4 people with serious adverse reactions, 3 of which are heart related. Of those 3, 2 are early 30's and one is mid 40's.
If you have a strong anti body count from previously getting covid, i see no reason to get vaccinated. The vaccine is not at one fit all solution as many people i know have had adverse reactions from the vaccine.

Number from the CDC and other world health orgs are as follows -

800,000 - that's eight hundred thousand people had adverse reactions bad enough to the vaccines to warrant hospitalization.
at least 80,000 of these had a health issue bad enough that it will put them in a "disabled" category.
31,000 have DIED, as a direct result of the vaccines.

I know people who have had covid 19 and recovered. The CDC/etc has very wonky data on the subject of reinfection, but most "authorities" say that it is "extremely rare". A few places that are publishing numbers say it's in the very low hundreds, these are people who were infected and recovered, and then were reinfected, and proven by genetic testing.

So, if I was someone who was infected and recovered (I am, but I got the vaccine given to me in the hospital when my father was in the ICU for 60+ days, it was something they forced me to do in order to see him), I wouldn't want to get the vaccine. Why should someone, when all the vaccines do is introduce small striplings that are replications of the virus, in order to get the immune system to produce T and B lymphocytes which is what the natural immune system does when infected without any vaccine, and better? The "science", which included "math", would say that having almost 0 chance of being re infected versus 800,000 hospitalized and 30k dead, would say that standing pat with natural immunity is a smart play. Last week one day here in SASK when 120 people were infected, 34% of them had both shots. There hasn't been one case in SK according to the health line of re infection.

You are still 2x more likely to get reinfected over being vaxxed

I am really sorry to hear about this man... Not like it is going to give your dad his kidney back, but might be worth having a look at this if you were not already aware of it...

I respect your point of view but my real world experience says different. I was at birthday party with a mix of fully vax and non 2 non vax'ed. A fully vax'd person had covid with no symptons and spread it to another fully vaxed. The other person and myself didn't catch it. Maybe we weren't close enough but we were all in the same room for a few hrs.

you've been disproved many times in this thread, but you just choose to ignore them. So whats the point.

disproved how? By having a hard on for the vaccine and me saying it should be a choice and it can cause adverse effects to some people?

Your real world experience does not mean jack shiet … those two could have been tongue punching each others fart box and got it that way …

If science really works this way… all my friends are vaxxed and never had covid and one client not vaxxed has got it twice …. Therefore vax 100% natural immunity 0 ….

    Ok I am dome

Im not sure why this makes you so agitated, side effect of the vaccine perhaps?

If what you say is true then i think we can agree that ot effects everyone differently and mandating a vacinne for everyone isn't the answer to stop the spread.

When are we going to start calling covid a regular flu?

Any vaxxed gotten their antibody count done? If I was vaxxed, i'd be getting it done to make sure it actually took.
I have for a study, as did many of my colleagues. We had quite varying values considering the time frame we had them done was all fairly similar. I get a follow up one in a month or two as well, so I'll be interested to see what #3 did for it

EDIT: I suppose I should actually give numbers. My S protein was 2979 U/ml at roughly 7.5 months post 2nd dose

Yes, came back antibody positive and as high, greater than the 250 u/ml upper threshold.
I think the max threshold for the test is 2500U/ml, not 250.....Our newest tests have no upper but the old ones were 2500 (so anything higher would have just read >2500U/ml)

From the email attached to my results; "A positive score ranges between >0.8 to >250 units/ml, with >250 being the highest unit of measure on the testing instrument's sensitivity. "
