Those are also two guys who blame the left for literally everything bad in their lives though. I don't think I've heard of a normal person making the connection, not even my redneck coworkers who use shot and jab interchangeably.

Both terms will be bad eventually... Can't have a reference to guns as that is dangerous and offensive, so you can bet a reference to any form of fighting move (the jab of course) will soon be unacceptable as well. I just wish the left and the right would stand up together against Fucktard.

Jab is used in the UK and has been for decades. My parents grew up and were trained in Ireland and the UK, always heard both growing up. For want of another synonym, writers in North America started using jab more and more after more and more stories from the UK started flowing over. Maybe some found it more fun, maybe some liked that it could save a character in a twitter headline, maybe there were some who felt the connotation with gunshots or vodka shots or shot put was off-putting, and maybe some knew using a different term would make some people angry because they thought it was some 'woke' term when really they were just bored.

But what doesn't change, is that it isn't a global term or concerted effort to replace shot with jab. It depends on the writer, depends on the source, and it isn't really something to worry about. Dose is the most consistent one:

It goes on like that. Over and over. Pretty much any article you click on, the probability of seeing more than two terms increases as the word count increases. Dose, jab, shot, immunization, injection, vaccination, etc. So what does that point to as more likely: that the woke crowd has cancelled a word (unsuccessfully it turns out, even the CBC isn't getting on board), or that writers just wanted to use another synonym when talking about vaccinations and the Brits had one they've been using on the regular since Queen Victoria?
