Is it bad that I can't even tell who's trolling anymore? Is that a side effect of covid?

Too many budget beers? We don't know the long term side effects of that swill.

Ultimately what is disturbing is the censorship of experts. These aren't random alex jones' spouting bullshit. Doctors should be allowed to discuss treatments, risks, alternative choices, etc. That's how good science works.
I don't have any knowledge of Ivermectin but you make a very good point here. We're at a point where there's censorship of topics that scientists can not discuss things without a fear of being pretty much blacklisted. Social media was banning talks of Wuhan leak theory, and while nothing has changed, the narrative is that it's a potential viable theory that needs to be investigated. Scientists feared backlash of being Trump supporters for pursuing discussion and now we've lost a year of meaningful investigation. It's toxic, and it's dangerous to let non experts and politicians drive the narrative, and now placing mistrust in scientific experts because of it.

Unless you're an expert, discounting discussions of Ivermectin because everyone says you're a nut for discussing it as popular opinion means you're part of the group think. Just because Ivermectin is used for something else, doesn't mean it could not have other uses. Hell Viagra was designed as heart medication. I have no expertise with Ivermectin, but I'd like to learn more.

Appreciate the members who are engaging in constructive discussion and arguments.

Obviously trolling is to be expected on anonymous forums, although it reinforces this idea that the actual treatment and science aren't something they want to discuss.

I grew up on a cattle farm and remember having "BIG" days where we had to give Ivermectin to the whole herd. Was pulled from school many times to help.

Damn, those days were.... bad. They were bad days. lol.

That's all I can add to the Ivomec debate ahaha. Haven't seen or heard the word Ivermectin since those farm days long ago. Don't know anyone who used it for human consumption.

If it’s good enough for the herd, it’s good enough for me!

Ever hear of a cow with COVID? Didn’t think so.

I'll address this first - the side effects/long term effects of vaccines are not conclusive, which is why were seeing more reports, warnings and issues with reactions to taking them. This is indisputable. Blood clots, heart conditions, menstruation disturbances, tinnitus and hearing loss, etc. This is literally being reported by all major media outlets, and in the past few weeks more new side effects are discovered.
See, this is what bothers me. Where did I say that the side effects/long term effects of vaccines are conclusive? Just because I said Ivermectin was not conclusive doesn't mean I said vaccines were conclusive. That is not what I said at all.

That is totally fine, and your stance on censorship is valid. I already mentioned in my first post that I acknowledge there is a lot of unknowns out there, whether it is with current vaccines or other proposed meds. So I'm open to hear all thoughts, as long as it's not stupid. Verbatim.

The issue here is the way you are articulating your thoughts. You start with :

Looks like Ivermectin will end up being the magic bullet to defeating COVID.
You already lost the battle saying shit like that when you should have spoke about censorship and how Ivermectin may be promising once more trials are done and there is more substantial evidence of its effectiveness. Instead, you side with Ivermectin over vaccines and you definitely are going to have an uphill battle on this.

I get the whole concept of "group think" and all that, but it's clear we can only go off of whatever information is out there right now. If someone who isn't an expert is saying "looks like Ivermectin is the magic bullet to defeating Covid" based on all the stuff out there right now available to us, then that is very poor due diligence on research.

Tell him the long term effects from the virus are far worse than the long term effects from the vaccine.

Can’t people wrap their head around that?
What is there to wrap your head around? You're trying to trick someone with an unknown and unverified tidbit to ease their concern over the unknowns?

I agree with you. Treating a viral infection with tick medication sounds like a great idea.

    You should totally do that.
Well they use a blood pressure medication to treat erectile dysfunction. Drugs get repurposed all the time when studies find new uses for them not previously known. It's not like this is some wild fringe wing of science he is talking about here.

That's all I know about ivermectin too. It's a cow medicine for preventing lice.

I'd rather have a vaccine than Ivomec. There's a lot more science that's been put into the vaccines than ivermectin right now.

The idea of vaginal worms gives me all sort of ED. So that makes sense
