It is a tale told by an idiot,
    Full of sound and fury,
    Signifying nothing.
Props and reps for a Shakespeare quote.

More accurately, here's some of the people who are in 2c.
Here's the complete list. We'll blow through this phase pretty damn quick. If naturopaths can qualify as healthcare workers, I guess this pretty much counts as opening up to everybody anyway.

People that keep the food moving (truck drivers) and the grocery stores fully stocked must be in phase 9e. They ain’t important.

Got my first dose of Pfizer on Thursday - didn't even feel the microchips! Worst part was the nurse trying to register my allergies, and the 15 min wait afterward without a lollipop (but a pretty sweet band-aid partially makes up for it). Bit of tenderness at the injection site the day after, but less than I usually feel with the flu shot.
I'll update if I turn into a zombie.

I don't really understand the point of 2C at all looking at this list. My understanding originally was it would've been people working in hospitals or other health care facilities that have covid patients present but maybe in a different ward so they aren't in direct contact / considered low risk. Which would make sense because people share bathrooms / change rooms / touch the same doors / etc.

But if my massage therapist who works in a spa can get hers, why not the esthetician in the room next door? Or why not gym trainers doing on on one? Why not teachers stuck in classrooms with kids all day? Why not baby sitters? They all work in close contact with others as well ... I don't see the benefit to society reopening for many of these professions having priority.

I think the idea with not "opening it wide up" is to help prevent the booking and delivery systems from being totally overwhelmed. If they can cut the number of people trying to book in half, that probably helps the system stay stable. It's already a total zoo at any pharmacy offering the vaccine.

I think the instant they have unbooked appointments, they'll move to open it completely. This group, plus previous groups, is something like 50% of the adult population.

For whatever reason only this broad and loose grouping of healthcare workers were included in the 2C phase. If they are going off the 'recommendations of expert panels' then teachers and grocery store employees, transportation workers and law enforcement would be included in Phase 2, which would have to be 2D even though they haven't identified any groups for that one yet.

Opening it up to those groups to try and get the scale up they need I guess would be the next step if they want to keep going with the phases. When we get some actual J&J numbers for deliveries in May and June that would probably be the cue to whether they will open it up and when.

I'm less enthusiastic that J&J will make any difference at this point. Their delivery numbers are stumbling almost everywhere so I doubt we'll even get any in April anymore and now 3 states have suspended J&J vaccines due to adverse reactions. Given that both J&J and AZ are adenoviral vector vaccines I wonder if they'll run into similar reaction issues?

At this point though everything seems to point to Pfizer/Moderna being the most broadly effective against variants so I think an extra couple weeks of vaccinations / restrictions would be better long run than pushing more other vaccines since variants seem to be spreading more rapidly across the globe. But I guess if we just use whatever we can get, people can always get boosters and/or a second vaccine type at a later date once production numbers increase.

I had thought we'd get a boost of Pfizer doses from the US but that's doubtful now, Pfizer submitted their EUA for ages 6 months - 15 years for approval so by the time the US finishes their general pop they'll likely go straight into kids as well. If Moderna gets a EUA for kids then we won't see doses from US factories for a while but if they can't maybe we'll get a influx of Moderna from the US in May/June.

If you believe the socialist folks in my Facebook feed Jason Kenney is hoping to kill off as many teachers as possible to help in the next round of labour negotiations with the ATA. Sounds legit.

Facebook socialists really have a hard time with the concept of market forces or supply and demand

I mean, I wish I could give JK that kind of credit. He might be evil, but he's no mastermind. Next time I'm voting for Kodos.

They’ll hold off on any educators until a school board agrees to teach second graders about Charlemagne’s influence on Early Middle Ages Europe as part of the curriculum pilot.

Got my dose of 5G today. Was pretty dead at the old greyhound station AHS site. Arrived at 9:50, got the shot by 10:15 and left at 1030. Mostly elderly people in there, presumably getting their 2nd doses as they seemed really old and frail.

4 cell phone reception bars everywhere I go now! Thanks Bill Gates for including the microchips in the doses

    Was Charlemagne Kenney's great grandfather?

Massage therapists got moved into the "health care" group in December because some people legitimately need it for health. I can also understand them getting the vaccine a little more than esthaticians or gym trainers because they are in an enclosed room with little to no ventilation, and it's been very proven about how being in close contact in an enclosed area for prolonged periods makes the virus even worse (as in more ICU cases, vs just "a cold"). Should probably just change the rules to have massages in open rooms, but most places aren't really set up for that.

Edit: I guess it would make more sense just to keep "spas" closed, and keep physio open, as most physio places also do massage therapy, and usually have more open rooms
