I’m just assuming if you use the word vax in any situation you probably have a hard time tying your shoes.

If Wendy's came out with a policy like that I'd just lie and still buy their triple patty.

I’ve seen some really dumb shit in my life but this is definitely up there:

Apparently people are concerned about “vaccine shedding” from the mRNA vaccines

I suppose I shouldn’t expect much intelligence from the owners of a healing crystals store in RMH
Vaccine shedding sounds amazing, gather everyone together and share the goodness
    Sig nuked by mod.

Okay so the setup is different now. They give you a ticket with a time. Mine's at 2pm.

So instead of booking online for an appointment, you're walking in for an appointment? Haha

Not a bad thing, they allocate space each day for walkins.

So, JK said they have something like 100,000 doses of AZ vaccine in stock right now. And they got ~30,000 appointments booked. And most pharmacies are out of stock.

So the remaining ~70,000 doses are for . . . .what? walk-ins? pharmacies, more appointments? Seems like there's enough to do all three pretty rapidly.

Probably saving them for the AHS walk-ins, so no one can post photos of an empty Telus centre anymore.

    All three I suppose.

Places can't keep stock overnight, which sorta screws everything up.

I doubt they would've distributed them all at once since there's much less AZ places than say Pfizer. Guessing AHS still has majority in storage somewhere where they receive them from the federal shipments. Over the next few days as pharmacies dole out their supply they'll reship more and appointments will open up.

Otherwise the Telus center can (supposedly) do 6k per day and I'd imagine the Edmonton EXPO can do something similar plus the other large centers across the province (4 or 6 others?). If those can do 10-15k per day then that remaining 70k will get used up within the week anyways if demand is sustained.

Only Pfizer has short enough lifespan to get tossed out. None are getting tossed, or very little anyways. The waiting lists and people randomly showing up are massive. Moderna and AZ have a much longer shelf life.
The reason many are getting tossed is because punctured vial life is much less than shelf/fridge life. For example Moderna is only good for 6 hours after the first dose is drawn, so regardless of whether it's Pfizer or Moderna, some doses are getting tossed if they can't get people to show up in time. My wife works vaccine clinics now and I know they have thrown out a fair amount of Moderna as there are 10 doses per vial for the ones they have.

My sister works at a long term care facility and some of her patients are refusing to get the vaccine because "what's the point? I'm 90 years old anyways, just let me die". I don't blame them for that sentiment, and if that's being reflected in the uptake then open that bitch up. Today Hinshaw said that it will be at least another 3-4 weeks for ages 50-64 to be eligible for Pfizer or Moderna and 4-6 weeks for 40-49 so she's encouraging everyone who can to get in on the AZ release. Their timeline for moving to the next age categories seems absolutely ridiculous to me. Its very apparent that the demand is there so lets hit the NOS button.
I'm not sure any vaccine is going to help a 90 year old's immune system.

The timelines are based on optimal intake by age but that doesn't seem to happening IRL so I suspect the allowable ages will be quickly moved downwards.

I think the walk-ins are still just the AZ for the over 40 crowd but I'd be curious to know if that's changed.

Starting to feel the side effects of the vaccine. Skin is super sensitive, like when I have a bad cold, and body feels exhausted.

Or the nanites in the injection infiltrating your frontal lobe. Will be humming ‘One of us’ to yourself shortly.
