In a proper secure implementation, scanning the QR code should query a database and return their name, then the restaurant csn confirm the name matches their id. Pretty easy system and hard to fake unless you find someone with the same first and last name as you.

Who said anything about two pieces of id? And today the protocol is ID + vaxx card anyways. In other words:

Today:
1. Customer provides id and vaxx card (easily faked)
2. Hostess or waitress checks to see if they match

Proper system:
1. Customer provides id and vaxx card with QR code on it
2. Hostess or waitress scans code and within seconds it comes back with a message that says “yes, Tik Tok is fully vaxxed”, then they check your id to make sure name matches

An extra 15 seconds per person but actually enforces it pretty well.
