    Default 2021 Resolutions

Assuming Covid-19 is under control, what are you guys looking forward to?

Being locked down during this time I’ve watched hundreds of sitcom eps, listened to hundreds of podcasts, I’m just so motivated to get back out there.

A decade ago at 30 I felt so useless I went out and learned to skate, swim and snowboarder, still kinda crappy at it but I am glad I did it, met a lot of friends and enjoyed it very much.

Turning 40 in 2021 lol maybe it’s the turning of the decade but I have that now or never attitude again.

I want to take some sort of dance class, some sort of mma class (wrestling, Krav Maga? Idk), Guns and Golf. The 4 should keep me busy for the next decade before I really fall apart at 50.

Quitting my job in 2 weeks so 2021 is more focused on my startup. Hopefully buying a half-duplex in May to settle into a space for it as well. Been working on my mental health and in a lot better place than a year ago so excited for when the world goes back to some semblance of normal.

Sounds like you're spending more money on things not as fun as the modified cars.

Try to get through the year without a car purchase, open my own firm and diversify the investment portfolio.

I mean yeah I’ve cut my fleet and costs down but I still have some fun cars. I really need a garage bad though right now.

See I think I should actually drink more in 2021.

    Fuck it

    Take more photos of myself.
I have a whatsapp family group chat and we try to share boring day to day stuff with photos and videos.
You don't realise how important these are until that person is no longer there anymore.

I'd like to get out more in hiking. Buy a newer car in the end part of 2021 or buy a small bungalow.

The same resolve I make every year Pinky. Try and take over the world!

Honestly though, I'm going to try and get over my deep hatred of seeing other people in nature. I used to hike a lot, but as trails got busier and busier, I stopped because seeing other people out on trails kind of ruined the hike for me. A few groups are fine, but when you are stuck between one group ahead of you and one behind, and a giant crowd at the best spot of the trail, it drives me insane. Selfie taking instafucks, loud mouthed assholes, people littering, intentional or not, etc.

So I have to get over it, now that my daughter is big enough to hike with me.

Continue spending as much time as humanly possible in my forest with as little in person human contact as I can... Improving my day drinking skills is just a bonus

Improve my anxiety levels. I was already a pretty anxious person before this year and I think 2020 has turned that up a notch.

Just keep working on myself. Mental health has been a big topic this year for a lot of people and even though I don't struggle with anything serious I've realized its similar to physical wellness in the sense that you're never really done. Physically fit people don't just say I'm done after reaching a certain level and its the same for mental health. It's a life long process and there's always room for improvement. Expecting personal and professional benefits to improving this aspect of my life.

Read more. Set a goal of reading 2 dozen books each year during my single days and mostly met that target. With kids around now I'm hardly getting through 1 or 2 so really need to dedicate myself.

Other than that the goal is just to ride out 2021. My expectation is we won't see much normalcy for most of 2021 given the slow rollout of vaccines and state of the local economy.

Will be my first year running the farm in my name so success at that is probably goal #1.
No beer in the house (liquor okay though), smoke less weed...maybe cut it out entirely, haven't decided yet, eat clean. Just general health goals.
Broaden my reading. Less fantasy/sci fi, more non-fiction/classic/human psychology/etc.
Get back into my hobbies. Farming kinda took over everything...get back out fishing and mountain biking.
