    That's a pretty good indicator.

I've heard a lot of rumblings about the same. "I was deathly sick right before they knew about Covid so I think I had it" or those who got sick after Covid was discovered but never actually got tested. I guess you never know for sure - especially with Omicron, where the symptoms are milder and like a cold for many. But I think once one loses their senses (which I dunno about you, but never happened to me before in my life), I think that's a pretty sure indicator....
My sense of smell in the few days before it went was really heightened for some reason. But I hear that might be an earlier covid variant thing and not an omicron one. I've never lost my sense of smell before either, diaper changes suddenly weren't so bad.

I got covid but the only symptom was that my penis grew larger. Then i sold my lifted truck immediately after and bought a vw golf. Weird symptoms.

well since the vax is not in body after two weeks how does it cause long term side effects? if you have any effects they are short term as with every other vaccine in history

well, I can address your question, but only if you are seriously wondering what the answer is.

The answer is: efficacy and side effects are completely unrelated.

^dumb question but how do you know if you caught it?
which test did you take that eventually tested positive?
A rapid test said I was positive

Maybe rapid tests are the distribution source of omnicron. People have trust issues with vaccines but no problem jamming an object up half way to their brain.

This is completely incorrect. While mrna is transient in our bodies, the immune system most certainly does have memory and effects from the vaccine can and do last much longer than 2 weeks. Ask tirebob.

Of course your immune system responds past two weeks. That's the whole point.

US stats are definitely heading towards this being the big push. Everyone should have caught or been vaxxed soon enough.

One and a half million in a day. That's impressive. At this rate, they should have either caught it or been vaxxed inside about 2-3 months and might actually hit that herd immunity.

The problem is that even if they do, the rest of the world has not and will continue to bring it into the country. We all know how quickly it ramps up, and we are not sure of how long immunity lasts, so I wouldn't say that even after they get there that they are completely out of the woods.

For Canada, we appear to be dropping a bit. There was the expected spike for Christmas, and the spike for New Years, now we are trending downward.

Not sure if that's really a good thing or not by this point...

Im pretty sure the reason Canada is dropping is not because the cases appear to be going down, its more because the provinces have hit their testing capacities and are now limiting who qualifies for a pcr test. The waste water data alone in calgary tells you there are far more active cases than what is being reported.

Well, encouraging sign that matches SA. But with testing at capacity or out, case # will be less of an indicator going forward. Hospitalization will guide us the next 2-3 weeks. Daily deaths now surpasses Delta wave and no sign of slowing down.

Just go to the waster water tab. We know this wave is over when this chart comes back down.

My wife got a cold (likely from my nephew, children are the worst) and not the cron, per rapid test. This means the only people I know who got the coof were my sister and nephew when they still lived inn the UK, and my uncle who was close to death near the start of the whole thing. Apparently I have a very sheltered life.

On that note, family friends found out rapid tests were free, cleaned out every source near them and use them BEFORE they leave the house
This really makes me believe @Buster when he says people will abuse things if they perceive them as “free”

Well my girlfriend went out for a company lunch last Thursday with a few co-workers and shortly after ended up pretty sick. Thought mostly maybe a flu but she was getting a pretty nasty cough and sinus issues. Booked a test and soonest she could get in was Wednesday and got her results today which were positive.

Been a week since this all started and at the most I have is a bit of a stuffy nose and nothing else so either I'm a ticking bomb waiting to get it or I got lucky.. not sure which way yet.

** EDIT ** Both of us are double vaxxed before people with pitchforks come running

Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of us have had it asymptomatically. Was in a hockey tournament this weekend, 4 games, with some families coming back from testing positive and serving the minimum 5 day stint. If I don’t catch it from this weekend, pretty sure I already got it haha.

Omicron was the talk between everyone this weekend. Some teams that got it, went thru everyone in the locker room. The odds of not getting it are extremely low. Worst symptoms with the kids is a 1 day fever. Let er rip.
@rage2 did you by chance win the silent auction for a pet basket at that tournament? I thought I recognized you but wasn't sure.

We ended up with an email as well notifying us of a kid on the opposing team that tested positive and played all weekend. Interestingly enough we had a kid on our team that was sick but since the dad was our head coach and asymptomatic/isolated still showed up all weekend.

Yup that’s me. I was the one on ice filming all our games. Ran back up with sweaty helmet hair to pick up the basket so I wasn’t really recognizable lol.

What team were you on? If we played each other I can give you the game video.

Springbank Sr. Stars, If I'm correct we played you guys Saturday afternoon 3-4, Crowfoot Sr. Black? Someone was taking video of the game on ice.

If we could get the video that would be awesome!
