Well, got me too finally on Sunday. I blame the dirty lot lizard in Thunder Bay I let slobber on my member on Wednesday.

I was stuffed up and a bit congested for half a day yesterday, tested positive twice to be sure. A bit of cold sweats last night, feel like a million bucks this morning. Thank you Pfizer!!

So the bike ride wasn't too bad actually it felt good during it - but pretty quickly afterwards I was coughing quite a bit for about 10 mins. when I sat back down in the truck. Sort of that feeling after you have worked out too hard maybe. But it was only a 30 mins. light ride along the pathways. Uphill at the end though that I think got me haha..
Yea, that's basically it. Lungs sometimes feel on fire after just walking up stairs or long slight incline like I had just done 10 mins of full sprint cardio.

It's weird that people only seem interested in making anecdotal connections to a corona virus that the human body has dealt with forever, and not the completely new thing we've all had shoved in our bodies....
In my case I didn't get vaccinated until early Aug '21, already had the persistent annoying cough by then and peak weight gain. Perhaps was the Pfizer is the source of the unintended weight loss?

The weight loss is the only thing that kicked my doctor into gear, otherwise they seemed fine with the cough and shortness of breath continuing.

I have been seeing a big resurgence of goofy mask wearers. I still follow the AHS hospital counts, and it has been just steadily falling for months. Down to 24 ICU's now. So I'm not sure where the make believe fear is coming from again? But I don't watch the news, so maybe they've been pushing it again.
I'm not sure about everyone else wearing masks in public, but I wear mine when I'm in public and not feeling well. Some of these coughs or coughing fits just come out of nowhere (like I'm suddenly choking) and a nice big piece of phlem comes flying out, faster than I can get my hand up to cover my mouth. On good days though no mask for me in public. I've been following the wastewater and it placates me.

This sucks, I went into the weekend thinking these symptoms were rare but so many people seem to be affected long after, some more than me. I don't know if I should be more worried that I could get worse, or for other people in my family. Misery loves company I guess.

Sounds like you need a new doctor, someone who is proactive. If your lungs are still impacted, it is inflammation. Have you undergone blood test to check for inflammation markers, C Reactive Protein etc? You need to get this under control. TWICE DAILY Steroid puffers, or steroid medication is a must right now. If you have any other conditions, even slightly high blood pressure, you need to get this under control NOW, and down to WELL WITHIN normal limits. Do not accept "slightly elevated, we aren't worried about it".

You also must get some exercise in. A little cardio, and a little weight training. It's ok to get out of breath, this is where you will need a second puffer just in case, the usual blue "rescue inhaler", I forget the name. Lastly, for men especially, small daily dose viagra will increase nitrous oxide concentration in the blood, and reduces pulmonary hypertension. It works by enlarging the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more easily to the lungs. You can try and get this with protein shakes, and a 5 gram daily Arginine powder supplement, but that shit tastes BAD.

My grandfather had it pretty bad last year, and at 84, this type of care made him better than before.

I think this is part of my issue. My previous family doc for the last 30 years was awesome but semi-retired in '21 and closed his small general practice. He only does pediatric surgery now. He was on the ball, very proactive, and pretty sure he saved my parents a couple of times. This new guy I have sucks. He tested me for strep throat on Tuesday and said he would have results and would call me on Thursday afternoon. Haven't heard from him yet. I should be looking for a new one when this is all over. The lung specialist he sent me to seems good so far.

Funny thing is I've been getting blood tests, and they are all good if not improving! My BP for last 10 years was 135/80 (+/- 5), I used to check at the gym often. Now it's gotten "better" I've been testing 117/75 (+/- 5) at home and even in the doctors office with my supposed "white coat phobia". I'll have to look at the C Reactive Protein on the last blood test.

Fuk I hate taking meds, never had to in my entire damn life. Makes me realize I'm older now. This new normal is BS.

Thx, I'm gonna tear a strip off this doc if he ever calls me.

Finding a GP you like is not easy. Lots of shitty ones out there and lots that aren't taking new patients.

At the risk of sounding biased, I've found the younger doctors are much more on top of the faster changing research, and less likely to waste your time with "folksy" treatments.

It would be unusual for someone his age to have serious or fatal complications from covid. But...

First time I had Covid I lost my sense of smell for 4 months and taste for 1 month.

The second time I had Covid the after affects are that I'm battling with temperature regulation. At night the home is set to 20 and I'm waking up sweating with no blankets, wife is cold . I'm also finding myself sweating more doing regular tasks like going for walks or just being out in public. I'm finding myself uncomfortably sweaty, more so than normal, yes I am fat but this is unusual. Doctor has no idea, told me to use a fan lol

Hmm interesting. I have noticed I'm feeling dehydrated a lot lately and consuming more water but again, can't really measure vs a baseline.
Also could be an adjustment for season weather.

That's weird af.. I'm not sure my sense of smell has ever really come back. The sweating though, weird. Like a nervous sweat or workout sweat? Have you developed anxiety about public places or something? Do you check your blood pressure at night? Maybe stop dreaming of sexy new BMW M package leather stitching?

Have you tried to retrain your sense of smell? Wife had me smelling all types of spices off and one throughout the day, can't say that worked for sure but I can smell my farts again so thats a plus.

I'm not nervous or anxious at all. I have no problem being in public spaces. It's hard to describe the sweat volume, it's considerable and noticeable. Blood pressure is completely normal.

I haven't felt dehydrated, I've still maintained 2-3L of liquid a day with no changes.

With the last Covid I was extremely tired but it also came at a time when I had a newborn baby in the house so I'm sure it was a bit of column a and column b.
