Haha, it was more so, pass on the allocation to you. Or, if you were good with it, I get it and if I don't like it just pass it on to you in brand new condition. Haha.

But anyway, I decided to get it as long as I like it on my wrist. I have never tried it on in person before and based on what statick is saying if it doesn't sit well and big on my wrist, I might not even end up liking it that much. We will see.
I like the deep sea, feels substantial. Not a huge Rolex fan, but that one is great. If you like your pam’s then it’s probably up your alley. One of the few watches I even like on metal

Who's been to Vegas recently? Any places I should check out for watches while down there? Seems lots of people get pretty lucky when visiting. Will have to try my luck when there.

Here's to hoping they've got some options while I'm down there.... guess we'll see just how much it's crashed.

I thought that was an old urban legend; snagging Rolexes on the cheap after they were pawned by degenerates...

Today, Las Vegas is the last place I'd expect to get lucky finding a Rolex.

Seems that outside of a few centres, most boutiques in Europe have decent selection... Maybe Istanbul for a 2-for-1 Rolex and hair transplant?

When an AD says they don't have a watch for sale, but part of their Exhibition Only lineup, does that mean it's a demo model to just try on? Or are these Exhibition Only watches eventually sold/already sold?

exhibition only. The store doesn't own those....Rolex does. They are only for you to try on or drool over from the display case.

Does Maison Birks pool their contact info or should I be leaving my info with both locations?

Because the two locations get their own separate inventory? Is it just the name that they key off of? Like can I just spell my first name differently and have the same phone number and email? Also, do the salespeople all share their contacts? If I encounter a different salesperson on another visit should I be adding my info again under a different name?

I assume J Vair is not connected in any way.

I don't know all of the specifics, but I do know that if you give your name/phone/email to one Birks store and try at a different one, they will see the file. I don't know if it's the phone or email address they are using. J.Vair is a local independent so not connected, but they will try to get you to spend money on other jewellery or other watches before they will sell you the rolex you want.

Birks profile is attached to the location you set it up in and @Pacman is correct; if you set it up at DT for example, Chinook cannot engage.

Unless you put a different name in the other location.

Ok, thanks. So it seems like it would be best to get 2 completely separate profiles at both Birks locations. Also with J.Vair, since I'm not interested in any other jewelry or watches at the moment, it probably wouldn't be worth even trying with them for a first Rolex. The watch I want is one of the more common, readily available models (at least from what I've read online), but thought I'd try AD for a few months before going grey.

Pretty basic question here, which may have been answered already, but here goes: Why not go grey market? Is there a markup? Reduced resale value? Other?

Any option to get away from the Rolex AD circle jerk would be an attractive one if I was looking to buy one of these.

For most Rolex models you will overpay in grey market - which is the biggest reason to not go that side. Other than that, no issues. I've gotten all my pieces in grey so overpaid, some more than others, but I am not a patient man, nor do I have any desire to suck-up to these lowlives at AD's.

If your not familiar with where to buy or from who the grey market could be a bit iffy.

If the watch holden likes is not a crazy popular model he will probably get it much quicker then he thinks. He needs to stop over thinking things and stop into the store.

It takes way less than that to backdoor ExtraSlow...

Like I'm talking a secret pic of a broken 958 and a tall can of Busch Lite!
