Actually good. Fancy euros eat something similar known as schnitzel. Just breaded and fried meat.

Except the southern US eats it for breakfast with biscuits and white gravy.

It was actually offered in my continental breakfast in Louisiana.

    Bush pies anyone?

2 pieces of bread, pie filling over a fire in a sandwich press thingy.

I am as white as white gets, raised in Alberta for 40 of my 41 years, and I have never heard of flapper pie before.

I was afraid to google it on my work computer until a few others commented about it I initially was worried about NSFW images.

Having said that, I doubt anyone has ever had it as my dad pioneered it in the 80's, but....

He called it a breakfast taco

Pancake with peanut butter and sliced tomato folded over into a taco shape. I have only met a couple of people who have tried it. Sounds horrible but it is absolutely delicious.

Bush pies are called "Pie Irons" in my family, after the implent.

Don't love open faced hot hamburger sandwiches. But do know of them.

    Sloppy Joe's.

Yeah, I missed my chance to try it 12 years ago or so in Houston. I thought if I did, my wife is going to have to deal with repatriating my body. Went to all-you-can-eat at Fogo de Chao instead. lol

Nothing like getting drunk around a fire with a few pie irons.

Aka Pocket sandwiches in my family. Can make them for supper with meat and onions/peppers, butter etc. Or with basically anything sweet inside for dessert or breakfast.
