Wife is going back to work and looking at daycare options in or close to Downtown.
Any recommendations or experiences to share ?

Based on what I have heard from coworkers, hopefully you have been on a waitlist for a few years by now.

Thank God I'm past that stage. But I would think the waitlists have evaporated with the jobs.

Try the daycare in centennial or the one in Progress Energy’s building. (I can’t recall the building name.)
I like neat cars.
my daughter is in Bow Valley, took me 18 months to get in so my daughter was in a dayhome before then.
I love Bow Valley, one of the cheaper daycares in the core and they have a top notch program. they offer a preschool and pre-K program, swim and yoga lessons, plus other activities all included in the fees.
to compare, i looked at Kids and Co on Bow Trail, they wanted a lot more money than i currently pay and i feel they just did not compare.
Good to know about Bow Valley! Will definitly check them out.
We viewed a couple so far. No waitlist for both so maybe things have changed a bit since then!

What does the daycare in Bow Valley charge for a single kid?
Might be worthwhile getting on the list now.
rates are listed on their website
https://www.bvccc.ca/rates.html
they had a $75 increase July 2018, but still reasonable considering other downtown centres, and they feed my kid well.
if you work in Bow Valley they give preference to those employees.
Livingston is across the street to the east. I’m referring to the new building with the Deville on the main floor. It’s between Jamieson Place and Livingston through the +15.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

City centre is the (stupid) name of that building.

there’s a subpar gym and meeting room.
kids n co is in Livingston.
My bad! I thought it was in City Centre for some reason. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Oh sorry, Ok that one is the Calgary City Center building - I used to work near there. Jameson is South of it and Livingston is East. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I am 99% sure there is no Daycare in Calgary City Center though, but there is definitely a day care on the North side of the West tower in Livingston which is why I thought you meant Livingston. I had coworkers with kids in there, it was pushing $2000 per kid - hope it has gone down haha.
My kid goes to Wee Wild Ones in Bridgeland. If you're heading into downtown via Memorial it's just north of the St. George's Bridge via the Zoo exit. Not sure about waitlists there but it's a huge facility so wouldn't expect to wait too long.
We have been happy with the Pumpkin Patch in the Suncor Building. I've heard Bow Valley is considered to be the best one in the core. We are on the waitlist for it, but I suspect by the time we get in, it won't be worth switching over.
We were really happy with Kids N Co Eau Claire, probably the best Kids N Co location. We transferred over to Bow Trail Kids N Co because they do school drop off and pick up if you are in the area.
Going to bizummptiy bump this thread after lurking...for some time.
What is everyone's plan now that we are pseudo work from home + imminent vaccination timeline... Are beyond ballers and those on budgets opting for down town, nannies, or de facto in laws &parents?
