Jesus, either I'm stupid, brave, lucky or right... I wouldn't think twice about a few hours on a highway at -40 in a car.

Once the car is running it is fine…
It’s small short trips I think twice about.

Speaking of cold temps and intercooler piping etc. The intercooler water temp in the Trackhawk was -7C while driving on the highway today. That’s got to be good for making some power!
I like neat cars.
I see the city has completely given up on plowing.
Calgary has long had a pretty relaxed attitude to plowing. Don't aim for bare pavement curb to curb. They rely on heavy salting to clean the "last bit" but they can't do that until its - 10c or warmer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It would be nice if they worked a littler harder on intersections, but it's not the strategy.

The city was plowing? Plows cause a climate emergency.

I don't think mine will even go that fast, unless it's downhill. Tried using the truck today for the first time in a month and was met with a slew of CEL's. "Reduced Power" message was an understatement. Pedal to the floor and I could barely crawl down my street to the alley so I could park in the garage and thaw it out. Being on the highway would be impossible to drive. Stupid Chevies. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Imagine needing your cars permission to drive. Shitbox lyfe
They're graveling like crazy most places I've been to. Areas that are hard packed or thick ice a plow will just float over. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My throttle body actually got stuck. While I was camping. Cost me $1100 for the tow.

Car was towed back to Calgary on Acura’s dime. Had to get a rental in Medicine Hat and then they wouldnt give us a car because of said dog. Wanted to uppercut the enterprise broad but resisted, barely, will need help finding her dad for proper payback.
Generally feel better about the situation today lol.
Also Acura limp mode was maxing us around 70kms/h but its was struggling big time, was tough to get it above 40-50.
Acura ran the code this morning and it was an air intake issue to which they believe to be a “dirty air filter”. No fucking joke. I’m sure something froze and/or iced up but fuck it. I’ve argued enough with strangers the last couple days. Give me my car back and now I’m not leaving the house till next year.

Basically gave up on sanding any roadway that's over 50km/h.
That's not many roads anymore in this city.
Fwiw I followed trucks sanding bow trail, as well as Sarcee within the last day. I think those are over 50kmh.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

‘Sanding’ trucks, haha. Southern Alberta has no sand, more like 10 mil crushed gravel.

Nothing on crowchild, Glenmore or 14th St SW or deep Mcleod that I've seen.
Now that I'm getting up there in age I have started listening to AM radio. On 660 news the other day they were saying the city doesn't salt when its colder than minus 20 (I think) so they were only graveling main intersections. I've only seen plows barreling down Stoney on the already clear lanes shooting sparks like a mah fucka.
Also on Dec 27 apparently it was a 28 hour wait for a tow and a 17 hour wait for a boost.
