I find a little bit of February -30 a lot more palatable considering how mild our December and January were this winter.

i was at the dealershipo for something random and some young fella with a nice lifted jeep was telling the service tech how his tire light was on on the dash...... in this cold weather.. couldn't understand why

I don't care for -30 at all. I can't lock my truck doors overnight because they won't open in the morning. I push the go go gadget door unlock button and you hear it click, but the doors don't unlock. The only door with a key hole is the driver's door, but I couldn't get that to unlock either. I have to let it run on the remote start until it finally blows enough heat that the doors unlock, or leave them unlocked overnight.

Once it's warmed up it's fine. I figure at -40 windchills there's probably no prowlers out so leaving it unlocked shouldn't be a problem.

Saw several vehicles with complete tire blow outs on the side of DF this AM - seems to be a common thing with very cold conditions. Old all season tires?

How many people do you think are probably driving around with rotted/dry cracked tires because they don't realize they have a life span?

Look at Kijji for used tired and take a REAL good close look and you'll see so many of them have cracks/dry rot and they still want like $300-400 a set! Ask them what the date code is and they'll be like 2008 and I just shake my head and walk.

Tires are like batteries right @ExtraSlow ? Gotta keep that tire compressor near by in case of a low/flat tire.

You are right. I have at times run some very sketchy old tires.

You dudes seeing this winter storm in Texas? That place is not built for this weather in any way. Power grid is failing, people are dying. State of emergency declared.

They didn't insulate their natgas pipes in Texas, huge issues now.

Mandate to keep temperature to 68F or lower. Electric grid is in absolute shambles.

My mom lives in Houston, said their place got down to 10*c inside today because the power was out. Bunch of people died in a pile up on a highway in fort worth a couple days ago. Pretty crazy, but not surprising they just don’t get this stuff ever.

I could have sworn I just saw lighting and some thunder, and just after we started getting these crazy ice pellets.

Hail or some shit in the dirty south. No thunder, my detector (Golden Retriever) didn't go off. Just heard CFD respond to lightning hitting a tree. Didn't catch the location
