Well my house was hit, did some damage to the sidings and window panels, one hail hit hard and cracked a window. Truck is dented and the windshield is cracked. My 20 year old Lexus took a beating but not as bad the truck. I’m in Bridlewood.

Some pea hail here. Just enough to wreck some flowers. Loads of rain though. Torrential downpour. A few blocks away had the street flooded.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

If I ever build a house it won’t have plastic siding regardless where it is. Does stucco for example fare better?

Generally, yes. 1000% times better than tin, and much better than vinyl. However, if the hail is big enough, stucco can chunk out, and the repair bills are much higher, and you gotta hope that whoever repairs it can color match it close enough you don't see patches all over.

I have 40-year old aluminum siding that's withstood all previous hailstorms with none or very minimal damage. Haven't been able to get out and inspect it yet after this latest deluge which had some of the largest hail I've seen in years in a couple of decades of living in my place (far SE). Unfortunately, it seems like they don't make it for residential use anymore.

Stucco didn’t stand up to last year’s storm and based on what I’ve seen from people already, there’ll be stucco damage this time too

A handful of people pulled over under bridges for the rain that hit saw Stoney by the costco. No hail. A bunch of those rubes pulled into the dirt/mud and were stuck up to the axles when we drove by

Yeah, our old house had stucco. Everyone thinks it's great until you have to patch it up and you can't match the colour. Then it looks terrible.

I’m sure you will have an interesting explanation for that statement.

Its coming in waves down in in the deep south Los Crangeles/Slaughter Bay area. Tons of hail and the streets flooded a few times. It lets up just enough for the sewer to catch up then it hits us again. Haven't been out to inspect the siding but after the hail but from what I could see from the window I think we might be okay.

Worst part is I've seen contractors still doing houses from the last storm... maybe it's time to start a siding business lol
