Thinking of heading down but its pretty slick roads all in Edmonton, I imagine Calgary is the same?
I’m triggered that you think Edmonton and Calgary share the same climates… but also sad that we actually do have Edmonton style weather right now

    Forty below.
    F or C it don't matter.

This is the coldest I think I've seen it get, here. (Although I certainly haven't been here super long).

These temps are not uncommon.. but they usually happen later in the year. I remember many -30 or colder days over the last few years.

Edmonton and Calgary are not even close to the same climate. Thats some horseshit that the YEG crew spouts a couple times a year.

I remember many, as well, like the entire month of February, 2019.
    But I'm talking about -40

Extended the weekend and went down to Kamloops. Would you know it - major accident and avalanche control which delayed us 3 hours in Golden. Had to weave through all the transport trucks that were also stalled so the whole trip took about 11 hours. Went through a whole bottle of windshield fluid between Revelstoke and Kamloops; the roads were a total mess. Drive back was much better last night.

I had purchased a used set of rims (proper the the 06sc RR model) and winter tires which I put on the night before the trip. Sure glad I did that - what a confidence booster. Yes, winter tires work...

I have verified the accuracy of this post. Good day to check the air intakes and exhausts from your fireplaces and furnaces, because they can get blocked by condensation / frost/ ice buildup.

My hot water tank stopped working last night and actually a beyond post from this time in 2017 saved the day

Don’t mind this weather. I’ll take -30 and sunshine over bullshit overcast BC winters anyday.

I will take those bullshit days anytime because at least going outside doesn't require 8 layers and 20 minutes to warm up a car

Need to keep focused on the true enemy, wind. It’s actually quite nice out at -30 with dead calm air.

People who don't have respiratory issues don't get how much it sucks below -10 for breathing. Need to wear a face covering to not have issues
