When Northern Gateway was approved there were over 170 conditions that still had to be met, 20 First Nations along the route still hadn’t been brought on board, the cost of the pipeline was increasing, lawsuits from the challengers lining up, oil prices were falling, oil sands expansion was stalling, Enbridge didn’t have plans NG on their reports aside from how it was going to be a lot more expensive because of the conditions and deals and lawsuits they had to deal with, suggesting they were trying to drop it quietly...and then the Liberals were elected.

Trudeau basically killed a pipeline that was dead in the water anyway. But people talk about it like it was good to go.

More importantly, companies were willing to spend private money to attempt to meet those conditions and eventually build it. Our personal opinions are irrelevant.

Kenney walked away from it, passing off the long list of conditions to the NEB to watch over, who had nothing to do but wait for Enbridge to pay to meet them. They didn’t, then the Liberals got elected and got to kill it with no political downside.

The only thing more inexplicable than going on Fox News to try and convince Biden and left leaning Democrats to change their mind on KXL to cover for your own mistake, is going on Fox News and pumping up union jobs as the reason the project is good.

Though it was still a better appearance than going on Power and Politics and stuttering around like an idiot when Vassy asked the most basic questions anybody could expect to be asked.
