Well finally made a deal on a trailer. Went with the Wolfpup (not the one I posted though). Managed to get $1000 off and the equalizer hitch included. Trailer is on the lot but they wouldn't guarantee a delivery date because they are claiming they are too busy to pdi it. So if it's not ready by June 10 my deposit is being refunded (that was a hassle including in the deal too but I got it done).

Hahsh, they are going to have until June 10 to sell it to someone above msrp now. Genius.

Haha yeah very possible. They already received another one and it's listed another $1000 higher. I feel like they will delivery on time I just didn't like the fact they wouldn't commit and they wanted a non refundable deposit so I forced a date on it.

Pdi takes under 1 hour, that's a made up reason.

First trip of the year complete. We had to shovel out our site at Little Elbow before we set up on Friday. A good 6-10cm of snow on the ground I'd say. Cold and overcast most of the weekend- save for some brief sunny reprieves. We still enjoyed ourselves! Thankful for the furnace and for the extra capacity of our 6V GC batteries.

Saw some wild horses, some not-wild horses, did lots of laps of the campground on the bike with the lil guy, and enjoyed adventuring around the area.

Best entertainment of the weekend was watching some douchenozzle try to back his 40' bumper pull rig into a tiny, right-angle spot on the loop, only to get both his trailer and truck stuck in the soft ditches, backing up traffic in the loop for an hour.

Some of those rigs are crazy long. I have enough drama with my little unit. I always end up with my nose in the bushes.

Had a solid weekend north of the ghost, managed to avoid all the snow but got pretty damn wet taking down yesterday, but also got us home early.
Dumped at the free crossfield station off Hwy 2. Not sure why no one realizes that you are allowed to extend your hose and can use both sides of the station at once. Was super frustating as not enough room to get by (when there was we were able skip 4 people just waiting for the left-hand-side station).

oh and whoever dumped literal shit on the ground there... You're the worst. Probably just going to buck up and dump at the RV Place - extraslow style, to save some time and annoyance.

Good camping though! Glad we bailed on Lundbreck, other then donating a bunch of money to AEP

It's nice having the option of dumping at the storage place.
Was at Willowflower over the weekend and it was great.
Didn't know this place existed until two weeks ago.

With the cold and my pump constantly running due to an air leak(now fixed), my battery didn't last very long(2 nights and 1.5 day).
Good thing my buddy had a generator I was able to borrow.
Ended up ordering one for myself that was on sale at Costco, got lucky it was on sale until Sunday.

I also ended up bending the rod on one of my rear stabilizer jacks.
Forgot it was still down when I raised the front.
Now I have to pull it out and hit up all the RV parts place and find an exact replacement.

All campgrounds keep a site or two always reserved for people that can't fit their trailers. Ask me how I know.

I didn't know that, but I've also always been able to get mine into my site.

If I didn't know the context, I would think that you guys had all gone to a motel with shitty parking and a broken roof.

Spent the long weekend out west just off of Hwy 752 at a private campground. Weather was ok Thursday and Friday. Awesome on Saturday and Sunday. Poured rain on Monday but the plan was to leave Monday morning so no problem.

The nights were clear and cold. Got down to minus 5 degrees. Stayed cozy in the trailer tho.... wouldn't want to tent in that...

Probably heading back out there in two weeks time. Lots of ATV trails. Put the new Grizzly thru its paces.

Anybody looking for a site this weekend? I’m going to cancel my elkwood A-loop powered site later tonight and it should be up on the website

For people doing backcountry. AB parks is now removing fire pits from the campgrounds because either a) they don’t want to supply firewood or b) they don’t want people to scavenge firewood. They removed all the firepits last Wednesday from point campground in upper kananaskis

With the new fees incoming I figured the least it would do is preserve the firewood supply, but apparently not. Great job AB parks.

The dumb thing is by removing the firepits and letting people bring their own wood atleast they would of had controlled fires. Now people are lighting fires whereever which is more likely to cause a wildfire.
