We liked it too (especially since it's so close to the city). It was our first experience camping last year and we did this in a roof top tent, which we soon realized was a mistake because of a freak rain storm. Shortly after we ended up with a trailer, so we're excited to experience this campground with more comfort. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I believe it. I would have focused on lake side there... we got the best spot in lundbreck so cant complain too much, just prefer chinook for activitiesThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No, not really. LiFePo4 batteries run best in the range of 10%-90%, so you get 80% of that. AGM optimally at 15%-85% state of charge and lead acid at 50%-100% SoC.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I am currently building a 290ah 12v LiFePO4 battery right now. 232ah of capacity!
I had a feeling someone was going to correct me on that. I should have added *almost* all of that 95ah usable.
Chinook is nice, except on the weekend when it's overrun by day trippers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Figured not a whole hell of a lot of people are going to be swimming at may long..
I was there when you were there at the lake side and it was an absolute zoo in the main parking area. Gotta get in that loop!
The day use area at Chinook is bonkers, we scouted out a few nice sites in A loop last year that we'll book for this summer.
Looking forward to the Canada day booking rush eventually, can have a nice little 4 day weekend by booking the Friday off.

You gotta be pretty drunk to tolerate that day use area. Like 11/10, that way people keep thier kids away from you, rather than the other way around. #supersystem

Are they rolling the rest of the season reservations on a daily basis? Ex. If I want to book June 20 I can look on March 20?
sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless
It’s by day, not calendar month so booking June 20th is March 22nd.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yes it's 90 days ahead, NOT 3 months. changes every morning at 9AM I believe.

I think all of lower lakes and elkwood booked up for the June 4/5/6 weekend today (obviously folks arriving on June 3...). Spots went quickly right from 9a onwards.
Welcome to the year of slide booking..
yep. They are going to have to significantly increase the penalties attached to changes and cancellations in bookings. Were I in charge, I would just drop allowing changes or cancellations altogether. You book it you bought it homie. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So other than coughing up for the $5 reservation change fee, is there anything stopping me from booking a site from June 3-19 right now and then when June 12 becomes widely available, changing my reservation to June 12-14? Or is that what you mean by slide booking? I mean I wouldn't do it cause that's pretty scummy, but I'm sure others would and have which is pretty bullshit.
Yup that's slide booking. (i asked the same question a few pages back)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ah right, I see the post now. I hope Alberta cuts down on that shit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
People already doing it. some of the lake side sites are fully booked randomly through to the max booking as of yesterday, once they can extend them they will and then cancel the remainder. Super dumb and could be solved completely by 'if you change, you cancel all' as per BC.. Be easy enough to make it a if you change, its an auto cancel, and if you cancel you cant book the same campground for 24 hours.
