Not even referring to hicks with ATVs, more like the 50 person groups of, um, well you know, that leave gigantic fucking messes.

But man good thing we’re avoiding a PST!
Having a PST and fees up the wazoo is typical in other provinces. We don't even have a land transfer tax. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Only things that rub me the wrong way on fee:
- tied to plate rather than household w/ multiple plate allowance
- not tied to Banff pass, would happily pay for both if the linked to the same system and offered a discount buying both (but it’s 2 levels of government, it’s asking too much of their abilities)
I’d be happy to see the number of people going to the parks drop a bit

Pajeet ain't gonna pay $15 when they can go to Shouldice and leave a mess there instead.
I want the actual announcement/facts to come out, if it is per plate then that is turbo lame for folks like myself who have a motorhome for camping and hike out there quiet often....not going to take my moho out for an early morning hike but can't see myself paying 2 fees...go go plate swapping? #yolo
So the day pass is one plate only, year pass is two plates.
Better not have to waste one of mine on my trailer when I register my truck

If you want to bring a trailer in a park that should be an extra supplementary fee.
A really really big extra supplementary fee.

Why? I’m already paying for a dedicated parking spot in the campground for it? Or paying for a crown land camping permit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If anything, there should be an exemption for having your destination as a camp site since you’re going to be off the roads, not in a parking lot and in a location where a fee is already charged and vehicles already considered
Basically paying to drive from the boundary to McLean campground or Gooseberry

Maybe a fee per night for the trailer parking locations. They could separate those from normal day-use parking as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Somehow I feel like your theory of “people with trailers keeps traffic off the roads” doesn’t hold water. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We have way more demand for people trailer camping than we have locations or facilities to accommodate them, to me that sounds like we need to charge more.

might free up some camping spots if some folk don't want to pay for the pass?

Yesterday:
This morning before 9am.
Slide baby slide, alllll the way into the august long weekend. You bastards
So sliding costs them $5 for each change?

Yup... They should make it so that after any changes/cancellations, youre locked out of that campsite booking for 72 hours
Seems like camping is expensive enough without paying a buncha extra $5's. But whatever. I'm cheap.

to get a long weekend though, worth the extra $5, or an extra $12This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I love camping and I don't mind laying the fees, I jist hate the idea that I need to become any kind of scammer to do it. That would reduce my enjoyment.
If I follow my plan of taking a year or two off camping I'll see how much I like that.

I might take next summer "off" camping too. For my wife's mental sake I can't do it this year, but after a proper Hawaii vacation, she should be ok with skipping next summer.
