That would defeat the purpose of the pass.
That would defeat the purpose of the pass.
My theory is go, if I get hassled. Claim I will buy my pass before midnight as is allowed…
Profit?

Don’t think they would talk to you. Go around, grab the plates and enter them, anyone without a pass purchased by 12:01AM gets a ticket sent to themThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Just back from Chinook a night early. Place was a fucking gong show. Entire Russian embassy was up yelling at each other till 2 am 3 nights running, beach area was beyond packed (we left a day early and couldn’t get out until 5 pm as we couldn’t make it past the bozo parking). People shitting in the woods vs walking 1 minute to the can… zero enforcement presence since Wednesday.
Impressive to say the least. Still like Chinook but prob gonna give it a big ol pass on long weekends. August long is at Castle Falls in the quiet loop so here’s to improvements.
Fuck that sounds rough. The day use there is pretty bad normally but this sounds worse. Plus I rind Russians are the wrong side of the crazy/hot scale. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

We ended up driving to Crowsnest Lake to hang out there. Chinook was pretty gross with the hot weather. Too shallow to be nice to swim in
Was at Lower Lake from Monday onwards, was supposed to come back today but came back a day early after seeing it was going to be rainy today and just ready to come home.
Temps Monday through Wednesday were gross, lots of dunks in the frigid mountain runoff that feeds the lake, the sun was so intense that swimming in the lake was actually nice. Sweet fuck all for shade around the lake though.
There was a grizzly walking around the grounds most of the week, we ran into him walking back to our site one day, rounded a bend in the road from loop B and he was about 20 feet away just sauntering down the road, kinda scary that he seemed to give no fucks about people.
Campground was pretty dead quiet all week noise wise, no fireworks or loud music. Was probably 10-20% open sites through out the week, which we thought was weird as it's always fully booked online, the heat might have caused some cancellations I suppose.
We were in Banff for Canada Day, so decided to check out Two-Jack and make sure the site was going to be big enough (24' site with a 25' trailer). It was my first time in that park, and I don't see the appeal. We're keeping our reservation, but I really don't understand why it's so popular that it gets booked solid even pre-covid.

Saw your Winnebago and Dalmatian out there (we were a couple sites down from you) we were there till Tuesday. Was quiet and great. Can’t say I ever thought I’d swim in lower and upper K and actually enjoy them.. it was a great week out thereThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Some of the trailer spots are lakeside iirc, it’s the tent spots that are coveted.
Haha oh cool, unknown beyond mini meet. Yeah it was a great week, will make the trek out to the ground again maybe later this year or Boulton for a powered site in the fall. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We did a family backcountry camping trip to the Point, at the end of Upper Kananaskis lake for Thursday night. Similar thought about swimming in the lake but it was necessary to beat the heat and very enjoyable. Went for a nice dip after the hike out to clean off before the drive home as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I like neat cars.
I think it was tolerable as it hadn’t been windy to actually mix the colder water into the top layers. If you dove down at all, it was unbearable. The top 2 metres were great
Was there at Two-Jack Main for Canada day/weekend. Tight parking in some sites. There's tall skinny trees but it's a shame there isn't more privacy between sites. The washrooms and kitchen on every loop was nice to have. Park patrol was pretty strict, so it was easy to sleep at night. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
All set for our weekend at Crimson
26L/100km is yuck though
Isn't Crimson Lake the one with zillions of leeches in it?
Never seen one there, and my kids have spent a lot of time in that lake. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also, you campers, BC now allows Albertans to make reservations at provincial park campgrounds. Suspect there's not much selection. I'm not planning a trip.

I have bad news for anyone who thinks crimson lake is any worse than other Alberta lakes in any meaningful way.....
