Louder than those fancy Honda fanboys' gens. But they're not too bad, I run them in campsites and they don't seem to disturb others. There's decibel info on them online. I'd say if you don't need to run a generator often, they're good. Buy one and invest the money you saved into 6V batteries.
I support this. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I have fancy 6v and a Yamaha gen, so I am good… but if that ever changes this might be a good option to look at. But those Honda gen fanboys are the worst …
I have no idea if there are some that you can't hear... but for me there's nothing worse when you're trying to get out of the city to relax than listening to someone else run a generator for several hours... Drives me nuts lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Honda and Yamaha one are about as quite as they come , mine is hard to hear outside of my own camp site. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
And this morning at Drayton Valley right before I hit the highway. It was pouring in the morning, but fortunately it was pretty easy to pack up from the inside haha
I agree, some people still run their $400 3000W open frame construction generators for hours on end. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Honda and Yamaha are the quietest generators but you're still going to hear them a bit. I spent a modest amount on 6V golf cart batteries, solar panel, inverter to charge your cell phone etc. from battery. Now I only have to run a generator every 3 or 4 days for an hour to charge the batteries, and that's without letting the batteries discharge below 50%.
I can run 5 - 7 days without a charge ( not in the fall when the furnace runs all night) but Wifey likes her morning latte and I like real toast not that savage stuff made over the fire, so we run the genny for 15 mins a day for our 1st world problems and not cause we need to charge.

Pretty sad news, but that's always been my fear with a camper, I'm sure these things would be entirely engulfed in flames in minutes.
One bonus of a hybrid.. exits everywhere
Dang rip. Good reminder for me to replace my second score / co detector
Im watching this one closely. It will be very unusual for a fire to start but be limited to the internal of a trailer. You're right, they usually go up like a matchstick house. That with the fact they are easy to escape and generally have safeguards such as smoke/co detectors it just all seems fishy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They do burn fast, but generally easy to escape. Malfunctioning or absent CO or propane detector?
