Default What rims do you run on your suv/truck in winter?

Got a QX80 over summer and its still got is 20" all seasons and factory rims on it, Ive usually just had steel rims on my cars but I feel like I would rather something a little nicer than the but ugly steel rims. Im interested what other people put on their bigger suv's or trucks in winter? and also I would prefer if I didnt have to run 20's on this in winter although maybe a smaller size would be odd on such a huge vehicle.

The bare minimum for any vehicle in Alberta is that the stock wheels are used for winter tires and a reasonable set of aftermarket wheels are used for summer.
    Stop being poor.

If you want to kick it up a few notches, get a set of Volk TE 37's in bronze and use those for winters in your jacked up Lexus GX. That's an incalculable quantity of winning.

Keep the factory 20s for winter. Get some aftermarket 22's for summer.

We have some cheap 17” DAI alloys on our Lexus for a winter rim. If I changed the wheel caps I doubt you would notice any difference versus stock.

Those calling for 22’s clearly don’t know how bad the potholes are in Aspen.

My aftermarket wheels are year-round because I'm a poor person, and because I can take care of things.

If I had separate summer and winter wheels, I'd just have two sets of the same wheel.

I bought a second set of factory rims off Kijiji for my truck but I didn't buy winters so they are just sitting in the garage.

I run 18" steelies on my Murano for the winters and the factory 20's in the summer. Looks like shit in the winter, but it's winter so, who cares.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Same size reps for the winter. We put 18" reps on the q5 for winter..do not want.. at least the mrs can't curb them repeatedly in spectacular fashion compared to the stock 20s

We've been looking at QX80/Armadas for the next vehicle so I've been doing a lot of research on this topic. Besides going for an All-Weather tire for your factory 20's, I'd step down to a 18" wheel with dedicated winter or M+S tires. Tones of sidewall and with the weight of the vehicle you'll probably make your own potholes. I'm partial to the big tire look when it's completely overkill and the only offroad the truck will see are grid roads or parking lot curbs.

    Or just go full ham.

Getting some rims and 18" tires from @tirebob on friday next week. That qx80 in the first photo looks quite cool. I feel that mine being white looks more boxy than that. Even though its really long it feels like im driving in something tall and fat not tall and long. That might not make sense.

Is the fuel economy in that fully embarrassing, or just pretty bad. I think the Lexus LX is something over 20L/100km, so I'm assuming the Infiniti is in that ballpark.
It doesn't require premium, does it? I don't think the 5.6L Titan does.

I run OE steelies on my F150. Just nice to have something that doesn't fit like garbage.

I had a first gen QX56 with the V8 and it was probably not as good on fuel as the QX80 is and I still averaged 14.6L/100 over the entire time I drove it although I did probably 50/50 highway city rather than mostly city. I was pleasantly surprised for such a behemoth of an SUV! I really miss that vehicle actually...

In summer its about 15/100, winter 17/100 and on the highway 12/100. Towing is around 20/100.
