also thank you for the heads up 89coupe, I've been living in BC and been going to the Kootenays for almost 30 years now, but I appreciate the warning on the winters.

It does get socked in and very dark there, but that's showbiz baby. I love it. Town is like a snowglobe in the winter, so pretty.

I was born and raised in the Kootenays, go back every summer, still have family there. We have some friends who live in Nelson who shared about the bad winters. Nelson is tucked between two mountain ranges right beside a branch of the Kootenay Lake as you probably know. The winds that come off the cold lake in winter and the tight valley makes for cold dark winters.

It’s beautiful in the summer though.
