Can't wait for all the pop up tech O&G optimization machine learning companies soon.
Like I don't have enough lunch and learn sales pitches to decline already.

Now let a 40+ year old O&G middle manager know how he can translate into that role, then we're golden.
    I am triggered.

Why would an EIT be triggered by that?

The harder challenge: having hose 40+ middle managers accepting they aren't worth over 100K anymore.

Suncor posted a lot of jobs recently as part of them moving their Downstream/Marketing from Ontario to Calgary. Something to look into for anyone unemployed.

Posting =/= A job they will necessarily hire externally for

Suncor is big enough that they basically operate similarly to a government bureaucracy, even if they plan on bringing someone into a role internally, they post it externally to test the waters.

From what i heard through the grapevine they offered all the staff in Ontario to move to Calgary, but most rejected it. I don't know if that counts as a layoff if they are just moving the role?

Also i have no insight into other layoffs which i imagine are constantly happening in their Upstream divisions.

Confirmed. Suncor acknowledge they are not reducing staff fast enough and is currently looking for volunteers to be packaged out.

So there's no way they are hiring externally. Those posts are just for internal staff and just happened to be posted externally due to process requirements.

A suncor employee told me last week that they are now being told the layoffs will occur in the Calgary and site offices over the next 18 months.

Or sets a fire under employees asses to work hard, get noticed, and be one of the ones who doesn’t get turfed.

The dog fuckers will continue to coast either way and hopefully are the ones who get pushed out.

Some people can get their act together for a year, most people will show their true selves in 18 months.
