The only people who would view Suncor's work environment as "toxic" are probably the ones that got too comfortable in the country club O&G world. Sure, it's not all lollipops and rainbows, but calling it toxic is a little much I think.

I just remember being at a Shell site where it was over 70% contractors doing Shell jobs and then they started making the Shell people reapply for their own jobs. That caused a shift to toxicity in about 15 minutes - across the board.
Contractors went from getting treated differently to being treated like the complete enemy. Staff were infighting and jockeying for position, trying to find the right cocks to suck before the next Re-Org.
It was pretty horrible.
I'm not getting Stampede week off? WTF? This place is so toxic. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I heard IT just means you fix people's printer issues or reset people's passwords. Weird that Suncor has so many forgetful staff that they need to hire so many new people?
Don’t count them short. Sometimes they install windows updates or plug in new monitors too.

Isn't retail rolling out a bunch of EV chargers? I'm sure they will need more tech people to tell people to turn it off/on or unplug/replug things.
Fuck that was toxic. Everyone was trying to held on positions in Albian to avoid the chop. Then Houston replaced most people in Canada. Albian was about to be sold off and everyone started a rush to come back in. I don't think Shell was that great ever since it stopped being Canadian. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Suncor is toxic but I think most of the toxic teams are usually with left over PetroCan staff still reliving the glory days and Suncor OGs hate them because they have slightly better retirement packages.

One of many reasons I'm loathe to adapt to.pure EV. I can't imagine the amount of broken public chargers. I think that was on a Black Mirror episode too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I worked for Petro-Canada as my first oilpatch job back in the day. Internship. Had a lot of fun, but the work environment was weird even then. They told me they weren't offering me a position after graduation and I said it was okay because I didn't want to work there.

Well fuck me then. What is it called when you go from one toxic company to an allegedly even more toxic company? #winning
If the industry tries hard enough, CNRL can soon be the shining gem of the oil patch. Let get er' done
