Or if you don’t live in Aspen, can’t afford the truth...

    Those aren't cracks. They're potholes.

I don't know... I feel like it's that there's a Santa Cruz and a Powell Peralta, and then there's New Deal.
    New Deal > those
    New Deal = Aspen

More like lazy and unsuccessful poor people justifying why they have moral superiority over hardworking and successful people.

    Or maybe that's just me....

It’s really a concept that only makes sense when you are a pack of white claws deep.

I think it was a thread about Weber Academy, and 89coupe just kept gushing about how Aspen is without a doubt the absolute best neighborhood in the city, and he can get to anywhere in Calgary in 15min. from there.

Then, as with any joke, it just spiralled from there.

Didn’t the thread start with him complaining about the traffic that was caused by Webber parents dropping off their spawn?

In all seriousness, Aspen and aspen-adjacent (hi @nzwasp ) are very typical suburban neighborhoods, just with larger mortgages. So yeah you get the fancy stores in the strip mall, and nicer cars, but it's just another suburb.
Certainly not "The Worst Neighborhood in Calgary" like some weirdo suggested. However eerily similar to it . . .

You guys have clearly never been to Aspen. East of 85th and west of 85th are two different worlds.

East of 85th is home to the OG Aspen...multi-million dollar houses and has been called home by various rich and famous (hockey players, Steven Ames, Elisha Cuthbert).
Now west of 85th where 89Coupe lives is essentially Forest Lawn, and rumor has it was developed by Webber parents that live in OG Aspen as a way to keep their kids humble when dropping them off at school.

I don't think it's working as my friend put all 3 kids back in public school and out of Webber (although it's only elementary and snobby classmates are not the only factor.).

Imposibru, it doesn’t get nicer than any part of Aspen.

Heard trump was even looking to set up a reciprocal club to mar a lago there, that’s how nice it is.

Pretty sure you need to be at least 1/32nd royalty to even put in an offer on a house in Aspen.

So OG Aspen is full of new money, and West of 85th are just wannabes playing Keeping Up with the Jones'?

How gauche. Basically a trendier McKenzie Lake with LRT access.

"trendier than Mckenzie Lake" is not a high bar.
