That said, it has a Redwater and some chain pubs, so not many areas can compete.
Aspen was not good enough for redwater .... they left two years ago ...

Oh dear, Aspen is a less trendy McKenzie Lake, but also without the lake.

Only neighborhood aside from Brittania I know of where loads of Flames players moved to (or such was the case in the 90s and 2000s). Plus there’s the lakeside owners and the ‘rest of them’ similar to the ‘west of 85th and east of 85th crowd.

I apologize if I hurt the feelings of any McKenzie Lake residents. If it makes you feel any better at least you’re not in McKenzie Towne.

Is this place also called Aspen Woods on the map? That doesn't look close to anything!
But the Redwater was on MacLeod near like, Acadia, wasn't it?
I don't know where this place is!

I heard a guy make a reference that "Pump Hill" is where some goofy-wealthy people live. Is that right? There's some monsters in Evergreen Estates assuming you can make the correct 15 turns on Evergreen past Everglen through Everwood and across Everglade. Stupid fucking neighbourhood...

I doubt it you hurt anyone's feelings in Mckenzie Lake. Mckenzie Lake people are more realistic. It's not full of middle-management types with delusions of grandeur.

OK, that's the one Google was showing me. OmG! Every single hateful street is named Aspen ______ and it's eXtReEm wEsT! That's not near anything that isn't Westerly Westerner! Who said that was "near everything"?!

I went to that Redwater on MacLeod (I guess Haysboro was technically the right area location) and it was pretty good, but not a load blower. I didn't know there were more. Checking their website, it looks like there's maybe only one left, and it's in Charlottetown, LoL! Maybe it was always a PEI restaurant that tried a go in Calgary which would be funny because there are way better restaurants in PEI than that!

I once had a waitress at Redwater ask me if I liked my pork chop medium rare - that told me a lot about the restaurant.

the fact that you don't know you can (and should) eat pork tenderloin or chop medium rare tells me a lot about you.

130 degree pork has terrible texture, hard no from me.

I’m not nearly edgy enough to pretend that’s good.

I can see why it belongs in the Aspen mega thread though

Mid rare has always meant 130 to me, yes 145-150 is fine.

Hmmmm. I think I mentioned in some other thread that I don't believe I've ever met a Jewish person.

But Aspen does not have a lake ... a couple of large sloughs ... no one in their right mind would go in or even let their dog swim in there.
Nobody in Aspen leaves their house. All houses are the biggest that can fit on the lot. No backyards. When Aspenites want to go to the beach, they go to Hawaii.
