This strategy will be interesting. All depends on how long rbr can make those softs last. Remember that these are the softest pirellis available, and really only used in Monaco this year. They wear out FAST.
I don’t remember any race where starting the race on softs worked out. You put yourself way behind overall either with an extra stop, or needing hards to go longer and losing pace compared to starting on mediums. You see the mid fielders do it all the time and they always get fucked. Pitting early on softs puts medium competitors in a safety car or vsc freebie pit windows. It’s a massive gamble.
