Destroy his speed? The guy floored it through the run off and had higher speed than the previous laps lol.

I guess anything is possible. Maybe Redbull just invented this new form of physics you're referring to, so Max was aware of how much more speed was available by understeering across the track to drive through the dirt outside track limits. Was all part of his master plan to take the new "optimal" line based on Rage physics. lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Just as expected. Mercedes appeal to review has been rejected.
Things would get wild if it was the beginning of the season with the appeal being rejected, but since every point matters it will become nothing. I only say that as now you can drive your car off track and force the other car to take avoiding action, if max had remained on track then there would be zero issues.
I don’t believe a single former racer had the opinion that max should not be penalized.
I think you’re talking misterman physics here haha. There wasn’t dirt, it was paved. He wasn’t off roading, he didn’t understeer, just drove straight to block. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Look at the speed data between 47, an optimal lap, and 48 when he drove off.
Attachment 102869
The blue line is max, between 1400m and 1800m he was way faster than the previous lap because he made up a wider track.

Racing another car requires you to take suboptimal lines and to make mistakes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

We should settle these disputes by combat.
If only because Formula 1 drivers are all little people and it would be hilarious.

Ricciardo for next WDC then. He can just ram everyone off the track, then whoop their asses. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
edit: TIL Alex Albon is 6'1", and Ricciardo is only 5'11", so nvm I guess. I feel like I'm in a bizarro world.

Watched practice in the background today. The Qatar track should make for an interesting weekend.
Lots of drama with the rear wings still. Red Bull's wing was flapping around on a few laps... can't help but wonder if they're experimenting with what they're accusing Merc of doing.
I'm not sure what you're looking at? If your wheel is turned to the left, but your car is going straight, that's called understeer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I never said he off roaded the car through gravel. Common man, you know enough about this sport to be aware that the other side of the curb is covered with dust and fine debris and has no rubber lay down. If you are honestly saying that there is no subsequent penalty to yourself by driving on that section of the track, then you are being extremely disingenuous about this debate.
Optimally for Max, he would've forced Lewis off track, but got a clean getaway himself before crossing the curb. Would've made defending easier at Hamiltons next attempt.
Rainbow helmet is worth 5 tenths.
Haha that's what I like to see. Let's keep this momentum going!
Should be interesting how this double yellow drama in quali plays out...
I've read no decision until 13:00 tomorrow? WTF?
Seems like that's an extra penalty on top of any penalties that come down given a grid peantly would impact race strategy.
What double yellow drama? What am I missing?
