First race playing with Race Control added another level for me. Never tuned into the driver cams before. Not sure how to sync up all the feeds as the World Feed is significantly behind.

Good race, shit result. Nice to see Daniel finish ahead of Lando finally, hopefully he's getting comfortable in the new car and see him compete a bit more now.

Can someone help me understand why Williams did a double stack during the safety car? Don’t understand the strategy on that one
I'm no strategy expert but I imagine they just wanted to ensure the change got done during the safety car - they were already near the back so they'd lose less time than during racing and losing position wasn't a big issue.

Mercedes making Redbull their bitch again.

Perez needs to step up, he's sucking.

I'm going to stop getting up early in the morning for these boring as fuck races.
The next one is probably not going to be any more exciting.

Almost all of my friends that watch F1 are telling me to switch my focus to Indycar. Or at least watch Indycar for entertaining racing.

I enjoy witnessing guys like Lewis and Max at the top of their games. Those two pulling away from the pack is simply another level.
Little nuances like Lewis noticing the inside was more rubbered in at the beginning of the race, avoiding the contact with Max into turn one, and carrying on shows his experience.
Reeling Max in after the stops, and doing it all over again after the second stop.

    Other reasons to tune in:
Leclerc in the mix. Can Sainz catch up?
    Ricciardo improving in the McLaren.
Perez trying to get on par with Bottas.

Monaco should be a procession, but I'm still going to tune in. Still lots of storylines to follow.

^Absolutely. Well said. If you only find F1 interesting when there are massive crashes, repetitive overtaking and 'thrilling' drives then it's hardly the right sport for you.

Agreed; thought it was a great race to watch and seeing that pit stop strategy executed to a tee shows that it’s a team effort to be GOAT.

Max is killing it tho! Checo is a closer wingman than Albon I find so far

Did Bottas let the mid season drop rumors got to him to not let Hamilton pass?

Has Mazepin rendered blue flag penalty pointless?

My guess is that Bottas already expects to be dropped for Russell next year.

I saw a replay of when Hamilton was behind Mazepin and it didn't look like Lewis was within 1.2 seconds and I don't think there were blue flags. Toto was probably just bitching about Hamilton having to drive in dirty air... unless the replay I saw was not the correct moment of the race.

I don't understand why they would drop Bottas for Russel. I get that Russel is new and has great potential, but Bottas is also one of the best out there right now and is in good form. I understand he doesn't want to be overshadowed all the time but that is his problem, not the team's. If Bottas left on his own then I'd understand his decision, but from the team's perspective he's doing quite well so why get rid of him until maybe when he's ready to retire or move on and be on another team on his own accord.

Is he doing a good job from Teams Perspective? I don't think so. - All the hurry up calls from Toto is a clear indication that they are not happy or want more from him.
I am sure Merc wants 1,2 finish and not 1 and 3.

Perhaps. But I think it's a big risk to think Russel can do that unless they see more than what he's able to do with the William's - which I am sure he can but the risk is still there. Oh well, I guess we will see either way.

He did it last year Sakhir and was performing up until the botched double-stack and then had a tire puncture.

2022 is starting from scratch. HAM may have what, a season or 2 left and wants to come back at least next year? It probably make sense to get Russell in to spend a couple years with HAM on the rebuild.

Ya all good points. I like Russell and I think he has great potential as per that performance last year given the right car.

I bet you also like soccer.

There are such things as exciting races without crashes.

The fun parts of sports is mano-a-mano conflict. Spanish and Port GPs had little, and basically you could condense the races to a few minutes and miss nothing.
