Btw there’s no rules for needing to hit the apex. Both drivers need to give each other room if corner entry they’re significantly alongside defined by front wing past rear wheels. That’s literally the only rule that I’m aware of, and covered by a technical directive. Technically speaking both drivers gave each other enough room. Copse is wide as fuck, but you need perfect line to go flat. Ham could’ve gone tighter, max could’ve gone wider, but they didn’t which literally defines what a racing incident is.

Watch the in car replays. It’s hard to say if ham could’ve gone tighter, they collided which changed his trajectory well before the apex. Max on the other hand didn’t slow down and aimed for the apex like there was nobody on the inside. We would never know what the intended trajectory of either cars were tho as they touched before that point.

You're comparing racing incidents(in which max had the lead and can dictate the line), to this insane move by Lewis to intentionally cause an accident. These things aren't comparable. With the speed Lewis was carrying into his terrible line, the only option was to hit the other car. If he had any hope to avoid a massive understeer he would've needed to brake earlier, which would have given the corner to Max anyway. There is nothing wrong with coming up tight on the inside like he did if his intention was to be ready to capitalize if max was going too quick and understeered the corner himself. But that would still require Lewis to slow down enough to actually make the fucking corner himself.

What he did was egregious and irresponsible. And he only did it because he knew he would have the advantage when there was contact being that he was on the inside.

I do like the RBR team(ironically I like the Mercedes team more. I also drive a Mercedes and would love to cheer for the team, too bad Lewis makes that sacrilege). Max definitely has what it takes to be a world champ, but other than that there is nothing about him I care to cheer for, other than the fact he is the only one with a chance to beat Lewis for the title.

That couldn't be farther from the truth. Last year when I had my Aston Martin, I was supporting Red Bull/Aston Martin and DR and MV. Now I am in a Benz and I am supporting Merc and Ham/Bot. I change based on what I drive. Haha.

Here's how car racing has been the last century: you defend the inside line, thereby slowing you down slightly from the optimal line around the corner. To me, this clip just further supports the "divebomb" verdict.
