So it took roughly 8 hours to complete a single plot with the 120gb SSD 1TB SSD setup yesterday.

Running another test going straight to HDD for temp and final. Started at 7:50am and is currently at 18%
I started another plot with the SSD setup at 7:04am and it's currently at 25%. It was at roughly 6% when I started the HDD attempt so it's not outpacing it by much. Will see if the big difference happens at the 31% mark where all those sorts happen.

So at 11pm tonight it will be 25 days with my miners split between 2miner and NH and I’m at...

    1 - 1080ti on NH: $110USD
    1 - 1080, 1080ti, 3060 on 2miner: $505USD

... so ~$900CAD/month... not too shabby for $2300 worth of cards, good mining lately!
Although that kicks ass, our dollar has strengthened quite a bit.

As of this morning it’s right at $743 CDN.

Edit: per month is close. Carry on, I marthed it.

^sweet, will pay off in less than 3 months then profits then

yeah loving the mining right now, 2 1060 6GB doing 4-5CAD$/day each on NH is pretty sick.
3060ti and 3070 mining ETH on 2miners and we are earning close to 0.01 ETH/day

chia plotting with standard HDD is slow, 20hrs and 1st plot was 29% and 2nd plot 18%.
turned if off and put in 1TB SSD for temp plotting.
I think they might be paid off? Close to it, starting buying mid-feb till early March... but the proceeds are way too difficult to track between the random DEX coins and farming nonsense

Can someone ELI5 Chia? I have a pair of 4tb drives lying on a shelf. Would that roughly bring in beer money per day? How much are y'all making? How many plots would give you 1 chx considering each one is worth a ton

basically the larger your chia plot farm is the higher your chance of getting rewarded a chia coin.

you plot on a temp drive, each plot needs ~300GB and can take 6-8hrs on ssd or 24hr+ on slow hdd.

once plotted it becomes a ~100GB file and gets stored on your storage drive and becomes a plot on your farm.

it’ like a lottery, the more plots you have the higher the chance of winning lol
i have 2tb thats almost full with 17 plots and havent been rewarded yet. online calculation says 3year for me.
they say the sweet spot for cost to chance of winning is with a 8TB-10TB farm

Pools should be coming for Chia real soon here which will provide a bit more consistent returns. That being said, I'm finding what's limiting me isn't the HDD space, it's the plotting itself. Ended up upgrading a couple of my older computer's processors and throwing some m.2 SSDs in there to help the process.

once pools opens up, will we need to replot?

plotting is definitely the cost and time consuming portion since it will eventually kill your SSD.
hoping to have a 4TB plot farm by end of this week, just dont want to replot again

my understanding is you will need to replot in order for your plot to farm in a pool. But there's nothing stopping you from using your current plots for solo farming while building pool plots and when you run out of space, then convert solo plots to pool plots.

Reading r/chia is really demoralizing. Some people are plotting 1Pb/day, meanwhile I'm just shy of 40 plots.

I saw that, I just can't imagine how he's able to plot that much.

8TB+ drives have already gone up a bit it seems. I imagine 1TB+ NVMe SSDs will continue to go up

I got 0.00323ETH/24h earlier this morning, went up to 0.00425ETH/24h now.
That's on a 3070+1660 Super, get around 90MH/s combined which is just shy of a single 3080 I think.

pretty profitable to mine right now, my 1060 was doing over 4$ and estimate of 3070 + 2x 1060 was 24$ on NH.

switched my rigs to mine ethermine for now until NH allows withdraws again.
